Cayman News Service(CNS): Six people, including an infant, were all taken to hospital on Tuesday night after a crash in West Bay involving a car, a motorbike and a pedestrian family. The collision happened around 8pm close to Super C’s Restaurant on Watercourse Road. One man, who was the pillion passenger on the motorbike, is currently in hospital in critical condition. The driver of the bike and the family were treated for less serious injuries, though one of the children and the rider are still in hospital.

Police officers investigating the crash have not yet revealed how they believe the incident happened but uniformed officers who responded to the report said a Mercedes-Benz and the motorbike collided and a mother and her three children, who were walking along Water Course Road at the time, were hit.

The man driving the bike, his passenger and one of the children were more seriously hurt, while the woman and her other two children received minor injuries. All six were taken to hospital but the baby, the mother and another child have been treated and released.

Police said that neither the driver nor the passenger of the Mercedes-Benz were injured.

The latest crash comes in what has been an exceptionally dangerous year on the roads for Cayman. Thirteen people have lost their lives in road accidents and many more have been injured in the more than 900 crashes that were recorded by the end of September.

Please people drive safely, don’t wait for another life to be gone. We’re leaving at fairbanks road at GT where schools were around the area, there’s a road driving limit everywhere here but drivers drive like crazy daytime or night time. Especially between siesta gardens apartment and Hilton estate. Theres a cctv there but seems not working or authorities were just too lazy to check these cctv! Hope authorities will patrol here and anywhere in the island often to avoid these accidents to happen and caught these crazy drivers! Please RCPI open your eyes! These cases were getting worse!

If the police could stop the illegal dirt bikes from tearing up and down Nw point road, back on to water course this might of not happened, Every night there are a group of people who ride illegal dirt bikes and four wheels up and down the road. It was after one of their passes around 8pm last night that I heard the sirens. I bet the accident was caused by one of them….. I called to complain about them on Monday night but no one answered the phone at the west bay police station……they were probably at Alfrescos making sure they didn’t loose any weight. Worthless is what the police in west bay are!

I agree with this comment. There is a bike that drives at the back with lights on full beam to illuminate the road for the 2 vehicles without lights in front, Then a buggy/trike type thing, difficult to say because of the speed it passed and the fact that it had no headlights drives in front of him and another bike in front of him with no headlights. The roar of the 3 bikes is very loud, but for anyone walking, especially in the dark, its deceiving as you hear the roar but only see the lights form the farthest away bike, Surely local neighborhood policing would be able to identify who these bikers are.

They post their stunts all over Instagram… Even the laziest of cops could work this out while sat on a couch eating doughnuts.
