Off-duty cop injured in road accident
(CNS): A motorbike rider received injuries to his ankles when he was struck by a Honda Accord travelling in the opposite direction in Lower Valley yesterday evening. Police say the rider, who was an off duty police officer riding a private motorbike, was struck near the junction of Shamrock Road and Will T Drive, Bodden Town. Emergency crews were notified about the accident at 7:42pm on Wednesday 21 October and the male rider was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital in George Town for treatment. The matter is under investigation, police said.
The Honda was damaged but the driver of the car was un uninjured no injuries to the driver. There were major damages to the motorbike and the rider sustained two broken ankles, police said.
