Cayman News Service(CNS): The police have now confirmed that the two masked men that held up a George Town bar on Wednesday night were armed with a gun. The suspects reportedly held the weapon to the barman’s head at the Ultra lounge on Smith Road at the time of the heist at around 11:05pm and demanded cash. The men left with an undetermined amount of cash, an RCIPS spokesperson said.

The police are urging anyone who may have information about the incident to contact Detective Inspector Joe Wright at 516-8169 or the Drugs and Serious Crime Task Force at 949-7710.

I thought guns were Illegal in G.C. Amazing how many criminals have them but, honest hard working people can’t protect themselves against this type of crime… Irony at it’s best…

@10:09am you are 100% correct I have always wondered how come there are so many illegal firearms here in the Cayman Islands? You never hear the Police or Customs finding to many of those. How are they getting them here…again, the criminal is smarter then the entire RCIPS, they are the laughing stock of the Island. There is an abundance of illegal firearms on this Island and you would think someone in Law Enforcement would try to figure out how they are bringing them in!
