crime(CNS): A 23-year-old man from West Bay who was stabbed in both the head and chest in the early hours of Saturday morning at an address off Batabano Road has been arrested for a catalog of serious charges, including attempted murder, in what appears to be a home invasion gone wrong. The man remains in a critical but stable condition under police guard at the George Town hospital.

A spokesperson for the RCIPS said the man was arrested over the possession of an unlicensed firearm and aggravated burglary, as well as attempted murder.

Police have not yet revealed the details of the violent early morning incident, but according to other unconfirmed sources, the man arrived at the scene in Sunburst Lane with the intention of attempting a home invasion. It is understood that the resident of the targeted property was responsible for the suspect’s injuries and is believed to have defended himself and his property against the armed would-be robber when shots were said to have been fired.
