Fatal crash on Cayman Brac 9 January 2015

(CNS): Police say a 21-year-old man from Watering Place, Cayman Brac, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the fatal collision just after 11:00pm Friday night. Raoul Muhammad Scott (19) died after the crash along Dennis Foster Road, Stake Bay, on 9 January. The arrested man, who has not yet been named by police, was driving a second vehicle at the time of the accident.

He has been bailed and is scheduled to return to the Cayman Brac Police Station.

According to a police report, Scott was driving a red Honda Civic along Dennis Foster Road heading east when he was involved in a collision near to the junction with Ocean Villa Road with a white Honda Civic travelling in the same direction driven by the young man who has now been arrested. Scott was taken to Faith Hospital but died shortly afterwards.

The driver and a 19-year-old male passenger of the white Honda Civic were also transported to the Faith Hospital, where they were treated for injuries and later discharged. Both vehicles received extensive damage.

The collision is being investigated by senior collision investigators from Grand Cayman.
