Pamela Webster appointed as NCVO Chief Executive Officer 

(NCVO): In the countdown to International Youth Day on 12th August, a date set to promote and draw attention to a given set of cultural and legal issues surrounding our global youth, the National Children’s Voluntary Organisation (NCVO) welcomes Mrs Pamela Webster in her new role as Chief Executive Officer to one of Cayman’s longest standing charities, co-founded in 1974 by Miss Olive Miller, OBE. 

The charity operates a 24×7 residential foster home for up to 10 boys who are placed there for care and protection, an infant and toddler nursery with 11 children from four months old, and teaches 40+ children in Miss Nadine’s Pre-school. The NCVO must fundraise more than 50% of its operational costs from charity initiatives undertaken with corporate and private donors to keep the facilities open and serving the community. 

Mrs Webster has been a stalwart Caymanian volunteer for over twenty years. She is the current Director of the Pink Ladies Volunteer Corps, a long-serving Board Member for The Pines Retirement Home, Board Member for the Cayman Islands National Museum, Founder of “Kids-With-Heart” as well as C@YKIDS cybersecurity foundation. She has been awarded the Joanna Clarke “Excellence in Education” Award for Literacy as well as being honoured as a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman.

Pamela brings a unique combination of business expertise and long-standing charitable organisation work at both the board and committee levels, which is key to ensuring that our fundraising goals are met so that ultimately the children under our care have the best chance of success.

“We look forward to Pamela’s leadership and an exciting time ahead as we continue to grow our programmes along with new initiatives for corporate and private donations, which are essential to ensure that our programmes can continue to help those who rely on NCVO’s assistance.”  

Pamela Webster left her career as a cybersecurity software specialist across twelve Caribbean countries to join the NCVO in June, where she is focused on multiple fundraising efforts to support operational costs. She is asking the public to “Sponsor a Teacher” or sponsor a month of meals, as the pre-school serves 3,432 meals a month to children as young as four months old and is the only not-for-profit preschool in the Cayman Islands.   

Mrs Webster noted, “I was personally drawn to the National Children’s Voluntary Organisation as I felt that the mission of Miss Olive, whom I consider my mentor, was not yet finished. I am proud to represent the NCVO during these difficult financial times and help our hard-working families of the Cayman Islands who are affected the most. 

“The cost of raising children has gone up exponentially in the last two years and it is a real struggle for parents to keep food on the table; thus we really need the help of our entire community in the Cayman Islands to ensure that vulnerable children who need assistance are provided with much needed nurturing, a robust learning environment and loving care.”
