(CNS): With Nomination Day done and dusted and 58 candidates lining up to fight for a seat in parliament next month, the Elections Office is going full steam ahead and has begun sending out postal ballots to voters who are already registered on the Official Register of Electors and are living off-island.

Students and people away for medical care are among those who qualify for a postal vote, as well as people travelling on Election Day, though they must have a ticket to prove this.

There are now 50 days until the elections, and all qualified voters can apply for a postal vote from now until April 17. Ballots must be returned in accordance with the instructions before Election Day on 30 April.

Voters who will be in Cayman on polling day but will be unable to get to their polling station can apply for early mobile voting. This service is for people who will be working on General Election and Referendum Day, which is a public holiday for most, or those who are unwell or physically disabled.

Elections Office polling staff will visit mobile voters in person, or they will be able to vote before polling day at an early voting station. The days for mobile and early voting are as follows:

Tuesday, 22 AprilBTE, BTW, NEW, SAV, PRO
Wednesday, 23 AprilWBN, WBC, WBW, WBS, GTN
Thursday, 24 AprilLittle Cayman
Thursday, 24 AprilGTC, GTW, GTE, GTS, RED
