(CNS): The Caymanian Community Party is holding its official party and campaign launch on Saturday night at the home of democracy in the Cayman Islands. All ten members of the new party will hit the hustings together at Pedro St James for a family-friendly event of community, connection and conversation about Cayman’s future with TCCP candidates in the conversation corner.

Party leader André Ebanks said Pedro St. James Castle is significant, as it is widely recognised as the birthplace of democracy here.

“Pedro St James is where our ancestors first took steps towards self-governance, and it’s the perfect place for us to gather, reflect, and chart a new course for Cayman’s future,” he said. “We are excited to invite the public to our official launch. This isn’t just another campaign event — this is about bringing people together, listening to the community, and creating real, lasting change. This event aims to build connections, inspire dialogue, and provide a memorable experience for all.”

Prospective members of the TCCP Youth Council are also invited to attend a meeting at Pedro St James from 5pm. Leanni Tibbetts, the chairperson of the council, said it’s important to engage young people in the political process.

“The current state of our country affects us and the future of Cayman belongs to us,” she said. “It’s critical that young people have a seat at the table. This event isn’t just about politics; it’s about inspiring young Caymanians to be part of shaping our country’s future.”

Admission is free, and all are welcome to join the conversation and enjoy an evening of music, food and family-friendly activities. There will be a showcase of local foods and a special “Future Forward” mocktail, activities for the younger guests as well as some traditional outdoor lawn games: cornhole, domino tables and minigolf. There will also be live music from artists such as Heat and Vashti.

Ah Pedro Castle! What a great place it was when it was a bar, restaurant and nightclub run by Glenn Evans!

No one runs a government alone. NO ONE. For each Ministry, there is money in the budget for “advisors”; even for the very premier, so do not fall for the PPM’s scare tactic about inexperienced people.
PPM was around since the 90s and with all their “experience” we still have multi-million dollars problems. We were almost out of the ReGen mess the PPM had gotten us in two weeks before leaving office. Who delayed the exit process? Juju and Seymour. Bryan wants piers now. Where are they all now? What does that tell you?! We owe it to our children to elect people who will actually look for solutions, not get us—and our children!—into more debt.
The PPM was in power up until 2021. In 2000, we could get a 2-bedroom apartment for $260,000, by 2020 we had bank’s repossessing homes and Caymanians living in their cars.
Heck! The PPM sold us OMOV, now we need a referendum to revert to National vote.
    ‘Nuff said.

I think you need to take a look at the rest of the world if you think these problems only exist in Cayman.

TCCP – Please publish your manifesto setting out clearly what your objectives are in terms of serving Cayman?

What are your specific policy and legislative priorities?
What will you do to ensure development benefits the majority of Caymanians?
What will you do in terms of Immigration?
What will you do in terms of priorities for Caymanian employment?
What will you do in terms of the National Conservation Act and the National Conservation Council?
What will you do about improving transportation systems and other infrastructure?
What will you do about government boards like the CPA to ensure that the interests of ordinary Caymanians are served rather than just developers?
What will you do in terms of improving the education system?
What will you do about electoral reform?
What is your policy on bringing government spending under control debt and what will you do about the multi-billion dollar unfunded national debt that we and our children and our grandchildren are being saddled with?

Vague waffle just does not cut it for many of us. We want to see it in black and white.

Don’t need to see their manifesto to know that Juju Mac Dumdum Saunders and Mac are not in their party.
      That’s good enough for me.

Hope Andre will see that adding $450, 000,000 to our debt for cruise piers, and another $200,000,000 Million for the new prison resort will put us into a $1Billion debt.
Just the $8,000,000 fees to foreign consultants for the prison could provide trade schools to keep Caymanians employed , and eliminate the need to import economic dependents from Jamaica.

You forgot Juju’s school, cruise piers and the lunacy of a proposed port at Breakers.

Meanwhile – the PPM launch at their Cinderalla ball in the Kimpton.

Well done TCCP for choosing a location that is welcoming to constituents at all rungs of the social ladder at least.

I wonder how many GTC Scranton voters dressed in their best to sip with Kenny at Kimpton?

Well said 1.27…the difference in venues is a clear statement of the difference between the two parties.
Guess PPM had to teach Dumbdum which fork to use before the event.

To be honest there were more people from GTC at the PPM Party conference that other districts. Are you saying GTC are second class or what?

Good luck Andre. Here’s hoping you will restore dignity, integrity and trust , which is sadly lacking in our current leadership.
Cayman will breathe a collective sigh of relief having a government without the uneducated, criminal , and the self serving snouts we have been suffering for the past 4 years.

Can’t believe some people honestly believe Andre would be running this party lol. Not like it matters, only one of them will win their constituency anyway. The rest have no chance.

To 7:58pm What is easy to believe is that people still support a party that will sign on the dotted line to build piers, a $100+ high school, a waste management plant with no energy buyer while paying lip service to Caymanians. I listen to 95% of parliament meetings and I know that what the PPM says sounds good, but is different from what it does.

Let’s not overlook the excessive appeasement of voters through free school meals, including breakfasts, snacks, and lunches. The health budget is already strained by the problems associated with overweight schoolchildren.

Who signed on the dotted line to build piers? What are the facts behind this claim?

Mac did ..and he will be running the new PPM..if he’s elected.
