Premier says no serious challengers to PPM

| 23/05/2017

(CNS Election): The premier asked voters to consider, when they go to the polls Wednesday, if anyone else on the ballot paper had the track record of the Progressives team, claiming there had been no real serious challenge to his party during the campaign. In an address to the country on the eve of Election Day, Alden McLaughlin said other candidates had “been hard pressed to mount a serious challenge” to the PPM. He said many candidates had even begun adopting their party’s policies as their own.

Not for the first time on the campaign trail, the party leader stressed the PPM’s full team and policy platform as he claimed the government had met most of the 2013 campaign promises and said they would do it again if returned to office.

In a much shorter message that the national broadcast made by CDP Leader McKeeva Bush, McLaughlin urged voters to put aside “the rhetoric, the unfortunate slurs the grandiose promises and the naked ambition of some of the players”, as he urged the people to vote for the Progressive candidate in their district.
