Cayman Islands voter’s registration card

(CNS Elections): The Elections Office will begin issuing the new voter registration cards on Tuesday, 18 April. The ID cards can be collected from the Elections Office at the Smith Road Centre, 150 Smith Road, or from the locations listed below. The new cards will replace all previously issued voter identification, officials said. To receive their cards, voters will need to show a valid form of official identification, such as a driver’s licence, passport or work ID.

It is not compulsory for registered electors to have a voter ID card but it makes the election process smoother, and all registered voters wishing to exercise their democratic right next month are encourage to collect their cards before the Friday 19 May deadline.

Questions on this or any other topic relating to the election can be emailed to office@elections.ky. The public can also call 949-8047 or visit the Elections Office website.

Swapped mine yesterday. Nobody there. Took 3 mins.

My only question is that if this card is to be considered qualifying “Government issued ID” like the one it replaced, why are there no anti-fraud security features (no lamination halos/watermarks). These things look faker than our current driver’s license. Black stencil-friendly typeface too. Amateur.

Oh! by the way, Bodden Town seems to be omitted!

So we can manage to issue new shiny voter registration cards, even though they are not required in order to exercise your vote, but not a licence plate? Or is it the same – if I cant be bothered going to pick one up I can just print my own off my home computer cause no one will ever check?

I can’t find “the locations listed below”.

CNS: Apologies! The list is there now.
