Domestic and sexual abuse is a is prevalent in West Indian culture.

Just look at the sentence imposed on that POS that raped a 7 year old girl.

Domestic and sexual abuse is acceptable behavior in the Cayman Islands.

@ 09/03/2025 at 10:29 am Dude, are you serious? Seriously, why are people like you even here if the Cayman Islands are as bad as you claim? Would the subject of this article be wanted by police if domestic and sexual abuse were indeed “acceptable behavior in the Cayman Islands” as you’ve claimed? Why not stop stirring up resentment and anger and try making a meaningful contribution to this country to make it a better place to live for us all?

I don’t know the answer, but will guess there is a high probability of poor parenting; we grow up emulating our immediate elders. I was raised to believe that if a toxic situation (although it wasn’t called that then) arose between myself and a woman, I should walk away from it, and never raise my hand to her. I honoured that, even when a woman I was in a relationship with brandished a Chef’s knife against me. I walked away. I have always figured that a relationship which devolved into screaming ugly shit at each other wasn’t what I wanted, and summarily ended those relationships; I learned what I could from them, about myself and about conflict resolution and moved on.

Spoiler: A person has to want to be in an equal partnership, rather than wanting to be in control to have a beneficial partnership with someone. Those that evolve to that level will be very fortunate to find each other, but if they do, they will likely grow old happy together.
