Moderna COVID booster available to all over 12

(CNS): The Public Health Department is now offering the Moderna booster vaccine against COVID-19 to everyone aged 12 and over to protect against the Omicron strain of the virus and the numerous variant strains currently circulating in the Cayman Islands. While officials have stopped reporting on the official levels of virus in the community, COVID-19 has not gone away. Chief Medical Officer Dr Nick Gent has recommended the Moderna shot as the preferred booster to tackle the current virus strains.

“The Moderna Bivalent COVID-Booster vaccine has been extensively evaluated in children aged 12 and above and in adults. It is safe, effective and contains a vaccine component specifically engineered for the current circulating strains of the COVID-19 virus,” he said. “I would recommend it as the preferred booster vaccine for older children and all adults in the Cayman.”

To be vaccinated, young people under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian when they attend the HSA’s scheduled clinics. Face masks and government-issued IDs are mandatory at all vaccination clinics.

No thanks. I’m done with this now. Actually regret getting the first 2 and the booster. But fear and government pressure got me in the end. Won’t happen again

9:52 I wish I had. but peer pressure is a powerful tool. As is fear. And god knows there was a lot of fear at the time.

Why do you regret it? Was it painful or something? Could have saved your life or that of a family member or friend.

I sure do hope nothing like this ever happens again in my lifetime knowing how many people are going to just cause the next Black Death with their refusal to think of the community and others before themselves.

I’m young and healthy and I’m convinced to this day that it wasn’t as dangerous as the WHO and government institutions made it out to be. The black death is in no way comparable to Covid. Nor is the Spanish flu for that matter. I am still concerned about how quickly the vaccine was made and that we still know little about any long term side effect.

One question. Why have the variants suddenly stopped?

Being ignorant of facts and minimizing the deaths of millions worldwide and millions more suffering from long covid is a tired trope.

Why do people ask obvious questions?

Given the published revelations surrounding the effectiveness of this drug, not to mention the myocarditis risk- why would anyone offer it to a child? And if you do, shouldn’t a proper doctor’s assessment be mandatory?

Dr. Nick Gent cant surely speak so broadly ignoring the real threat and risk of taking this drug, or can he? Is individual health not a thing anymore?

-Natural immunity is published to be as effective or more so!
    -Myocarditis is a real concern!
-The rate of infection and illness is much lower than 1%

Diabetes is more of a concern than Covid. It kills more people than Covid ever will. Why isn’t the government worried about that instead of wasting time on this minor issue?!?

Most teenagers should not be getting the this vaccine. The risk of myocarditis outweighs the risk of covid at this point.

99.8% of children have non-serious side effects such as pain at the injection site. Saying that there is a major risk of myocarditis is disingenuous. That’s like saying people shouldn’t go outside for the fear of being struck by lightning.

Covid has become less threatening for most people but your risk of getting serious side effects from a Covid infection unvaccinated are much higher than getting a serious side effect from the vaccine.

I am the only unvaxxed employee of 7 employees at work. I am also the only employee who has not had Covid. Some have had it twice!

I got the vaccine, and was hit by a car the next day, must have been side effect, as I’d never been run over before I had the vaccine.

The vaccine also caused the run on SVB Bank, the war in Ukraine and the mosquitos to get worse.

And the Queen passed away after having the vaccine

And yet you will argue that if you didnt take it, you wouldve had Covid worse. Well those of us in the control group, if we got a flu in the past 3 years (supposedly Covid) didnt get anything worse. Plus we’re sitting back watching you all get covid multiple times in addition to all your ‘anecdotal’ sudden health issues while we are perfectly fine. So thanks for your concern but I’ll continue to stay healthy and keep my immune system naturally intact.

3 years later and people still think the vaccine stops you getting COVID, it reduces the severity of the illness.

The various government narratives were not saying this. They were pushing that it STOPS the virus
