Bush on Talk Today

(CNS): McKeeva Bush MP (WBW), was admitted to Health City in East End on Monday morning with chest pains. In a statement, the veteran politician and Father of the House revealed that for the past few weeks he had not been feeling well but had prioritised the care of his wife. But after attending the hospital today, where he underwent a series of tests, he has been admitted for observation. Bush said he was optimistic that he would be released before the end of the day.

“In the interim, I have been ordered to take two weeks of rest and as such will have very limited access to calls and visitors,” he said. “With the above in mind, my office has cancelled all my engagements until further notice.

“Hopefully, when I return to Health City later in the week I will be given a clean bill of health and able to resume my service to the good people of West Bay and the wider Caymanian community. On a personal note, I encourage all of you to take your health seriously and hope that it is a part of your New Year’s resolutions. We only have one body.”

Bush also took the time to wish everyone a Happy Heroes Day. “I would like to also offer heartfelt congratulations to all of the award recipients at today’s ceremony, the first one I have not attended in all of the years since I created it 20 years ago,” he added.

Anyone wanting to contact Bush with important issues is asked to call Louisa Robinson or Eva Tomlinson at (345) 949-8660 between the hours of 9:30am – 6:30pm.

Mr. Bush started well in politics. Back in the early 90s, I was the beneficiary of a decision that he was involved in regarding further education. It was all straightforward. I will always be grateful to him for that, but something seemed to go awry in his political walk.
I believe that he became involved in gambling to such an extent that he was vulnerable to being compromised.

Is it possible that the blanket status grants were a smoke screen to slide in a few suspect individuals?
It is well-known that he subsequently became a member of the Mechanics Lodge which would have further compromised him.
I think that we need to protect our political system and its participants by term-limits and insisting that our government should not be open to those who are members of secret societies.
Also, no government business should be conducted on personal phones or email accounts.

At the end of the day, McKeeva Bush is a member of the human race and one can only hope or pray for his recovery because who knows, perhaps he will have had some time to reflect on his life choices and do better for the Cayman Islands?

Death comes to us all as does accountability for our actions. We should all strive to be found on the side of truth.

Mr. Bush. We hope you pull through this situation and find the elusive peace that we all desire.

The Independent United Order of Mechanics was founded in 1757 in Lancashire, England.
Today, District Grand Lodges operate throughout the world, including England, Canada, Saint Lucia, Belize, Jamaica, Guyana, Cuba, Costa Rica, Aruba, Trinidad & Tobago, Netherlands, Turks and Caicos Islands, Panama, Scotland, Barbados, Grenada, Suriname, Dutch West Indies, Cayman Islands, Honduras, Guatemala, French Guiana and the United States of America.

All you have to do is ask him. I think you will find that he is a member of the Mechanics.

Only a Lodge person would make a post like that. It is tiresome and obvious.

Whatever the issue is, I’m sure he’ll beat it. It is his usual approach anyways.

Not feeling well for a few weeks? Looked in rare form at the engagement party recently though. Just ask his lawyer.

Neither last week when he was in the house telling members of the government to turn in their mics and speak into them instead of two each other and talk so he could hear because they weren’t in Sunday school!

While I am certainly not a fan of Mac’s more controversial and mindless politics and personal misdeeds, Mac the ordinary dude was a quite likeable fellow and I enjoyed bantering over drinks when he visited Cayman Brac. My soft spot for Mac was that he seemed to genuinely love Cayman Brac. I can only speak from my experience. When I had need to interact with him as an official, I can say that Mac seemed to patiently take time to really listen, and he did follow up if follow up was called for or promised. More than I can say for many politicians.

Mac: I wish you a good and speedy recovery and a long and happy life.
Retire and start taking care of yourself my friend!

What a warrior, champion, patriotic, putting everyone else’s interest before his, straight shooter and now fighting the good fight so he can give back to the community even more. It behooves me to say Cayman should honor him with Cayman knighthood status with flutes and harps playing. I envision a McKeeva statue with his arms outstretched overlooking Cayman much like Brazil has in Rio. Am I the only one in tears just thinking about it 🙁

When an elected official choses to go to HCCI versus going to HSA that says a lot about the confidence he has in the HSA. Sabrina, what say you…..😳😳😳

In light of my and my family’s experience with HSA, all I can say is:
      Good choice, Mac!

Allow me to present The Rest of the Story:
One reason that the government (Mac’s government? Can’t recall.) granted Shetty all the juicy concessions was that the proposed Shetty facility offered a level of care for cardiac patients not available at HSA. Health city would, for some conditions, offer an alternative to going overseas for care and treatment. I should presume that this still holds true.

Yes. Part of that deal was (and is still) that they would charge that which the insurance of the patient allowed.

It has been a good arrangement for the people of the Cayman Islands. Many of the health professionals of Health City have the bedside manner of a stick, however they are all extremely skilled and educated.

At least they are educated and skilled. Indian doctors in Florida aren’t any different than American. Americanisation of foreign doctors equals indifference, laziness, arrogance, forgotten education and skills. Florida hospitals quality of care is the third from the bottom (out of 50 states).

HCCI specializes in cardiac care and HSA would have most likely referred him there anyway. Both hospitals work together to support each other and their patients

I don’t know, what do say to this guy. Empathy and compassion will always rule to hope the best for his health, but please Mr Bush, there is absolutely no need to ‘resume your service to the good people of West Bay and the wider Caymanian community.’ – just sayin
