Serial sex offender back in jail for fourth time

| 21/06/2022 | 18 Comments

(CNS): Ronnie Rodney Ebanks (53) from West Bay has been jailed for two years, having admitted to exposing himself and masturbating in public as he watched young children playing on Seven Mile Beach in January. Ebanks pleaded guilty in April to publicly committing an indecent act and criminal trespass. But at the time he was under a sexual harm prevention order that had begun when he was released from prison last year after serving most of a six-year term for his third conviction for a sexual offence.

Despite wearing an electronic tag, Ebanks had breached his order when he went to the beach in the first place and compounded that breach when he went on to commit the sexual offence, which was reported to the police by the parents of the children. Ebanks was taken into custody immediately and has been on remand since. He will now serve the two-year sentence he received in court earlier this month.

When he is released, he will be subject to another seven-year prevention order, which means he will continue to be monitored by the authorities.

Ebanks, who was the first person to be placed on a sexual harm prevention order, has been described by the courts as a “sexual predator and a danger to women”. That danger has now extended to children with Ebanks’ fourth sexual crime.

Apparently this offender can’t exercise even a modicum of restraint. Hence, civilized society depends on laws and law makers. One can only conclude that somehow the right to safety for women and children is less important in CI than the rights of the offender. Of course he behaves well in prison. None of his potential victims reside there…

Who caused the damage to him no body want to say that maybe he’s a victim of the same thing he is doing now ever thought of that someone hurt him when he was young and now it’s probably too late to get any help for him just maybe he’s a product of society bet you never thought of that

Multiple armed home invasion assault and rapes and repeat offenses over 24 years.
Why was he allowed out on the public beaches???!!

Just like everyone else with Autism and ADHD, they need medication. This is also a mind disease. Throwing them in jail doesn’t help. That’s why it keeps happening. No Mental help in Cayman.

Chemical castration seems to be the only option for this perverted sick man. I mean, 4th time in jail for the same thing, only this time worse because it involves children. Government is too nice to these low life’s…

This type of offender cannot be rehabilitated. He must be kept locked up or at least under strict supervision (real not fake). It is ridiculous that this person can perform the same offense over and over again!

A home grown perverted pest, should’ve been locked up years ago.

Pervs can’t be rehabilitated. No one is worsening this problem except the perv himself.

Shouldn’t he have to complete the rest of his previous sentence in addition to the 2 year term he has received for this offence – committed the new one whilst on early release. Passing ove rthe fact that, as a fourth offence, he clearly has massive problems in restraining himself and is not going to be any safer to the public in 2 years time anyway.

Yes, he already spent about five months in jail and with the usual credit for good behavior may be out again early next year. It seems like another extremely lenient sentence from the judiciary. It would be helpful to remind us who the sentencing judge was.

Yet, being a dangerous to women and children, he will be released again…

WTF!!! What is wrong with our courts and systems? This guy is SICK. He has a sickness that likely can’t be treated. It seems possible that his acts have escalated to the more horrific. What next? I don’t even want to speculate and you shouldn’t either.

I don’t think he should ever see the light of day.

Will be out in oh 16 months free to rape a woman or child. Unbelievable! We need a “1 strike and out of society for good” law for this type of sick POS.

Ah there’s an idea for a motion by one of our very bored politicians instead of music in bars on Sunday. SMH.

They need to keep him in jail for the rest of his life. Obviously he has made no change.

Serial offender in sex crimes….how about a life order (sentence)?

Its now pretty much written in stone that sex offenders cannot be rehabilitated.

    Ask Jeffrey.
