(CNS): Traffic police are currently on the scene of a collision on Old Crewe Road where a car reportedly crashed into a CUC light pole, knocking it down and is blocking the road. The driver, who was the only person in the car, has been taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital by ambulance to be treated for what police believe are non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, Old Crewe Road between Sunrise Boulevard and South Sound Road is currently closed as CUC is on scene working to remove the pole and police investigate the cause of the crash.

Look out for two door yellow BMW that forced my wife off the road at approximately four today by the Rennaisance coming from West Bay. He is a congenital idiot and if you read this avoid that car at all costs.
RCIP please note what I have to say..

On the phone. People think If the phone is not up to their ear they aren’t on the phone.

CUC needs to report annual totals of light poles knocked down by
hopeless drivers, it would surprise everyone. Presumably the cost is added to our light bills.

Much rather it be added to everyone’s bills vs. paying for it myself.

        To put it another way:
        – If CUC pay for it we all pay for it, but the people with big shopping plazas and office buildings pay more than I do with my apartment.
        – If individuals had to pay for it either (a) many couldn’t or (b) everyone’s car insurance would go up so the individual’s insurance could cover it. Which means my small car and the Maserati pay the same amount, and it is divided up between fewer of us than when part of all CUC bills so each road user would pay more.

Of course if it were that Maseratis were left alone and Honda Civics got overcharged, that might be fairer. 🙂

      Unless the Pole was insured.

A rice rocket ripped past me and many other cars this afternoon at 80 mph through residential Savannah, which has a 30 mph speed limit. I imagined a mum with children exiting her driveway onto the main road:look right, look left, look right again, then the whole family ends up in the morgue anyway. It nearly happened to me recently at night when a rogue biker, dressed in black with no lights or reflectors, did a wheelie at 45 mph just as I was exiting my driveway. The only reason I and the biker are still alive is because I wound my window down: he was invisible but I heard him coming.
