All vaccine reactions reported, say officials

CMO Dr John Lee gets the COVID-19 vaccine

(CNS): Public Health officials are documenting and reporting all adverse events in the Cayman Islands that could be connected to the COVID-19 vaccination and no attempts to cover up any possible links are underway, officials have said. While making a direct connection to the vaccine when someone becomes ill after the shots can be difficult, there have been less than ten incidences here where, after being vaccinated, an individual has suffered some kind of serious condition, Chief Medical Officer Dr John Lee told CNS. These cases have been monitored and most have recovered.

However, in one case, which is currently circulating very widely on social media, a young woman was diagnosed with Gullain-Barre Syndrome, a rare auto-immune disorder. Dr Lee said this case has been reported on to Public Health England (now renamed the Health Security Agency) and that he was aware that the patient was being treated in the United States.

While this specific case has been documented, there persists a local narrative than many more unspecified adverse reactions are being covered up by the health authorities, which Dr Lee refutes. He said that when he has been asked by the media, he has supplied the relevant information and that reactions are being monitored.

As reported by CNS in a recent article, the results of the Health Services Authority vaccine survey were also documented. The survey, which was entirely self-reported and unverified, showed that at the end of August, after more than 51,000 people here had received at least one dose, more than half reported no side-effects or reactions at all, and most that were reported were mild. More than half of those reporting a reaction said that this was a sore arm, which is less of a side-effect and more of a direct consequence.

“There have been some serious events, but they are not dozens and they remain as a figure of under ten to my knowledge. And as I have said, these people are either fully recovered or continue to improve,” Dr Lee said in response to inquiries from CNS.

Lee explained that in any instance where a link is claimed as an adverse effect from a vaccine, “it is always difficult to prove cause and effect and to understand the other issues that may be involved”.

The persistent allegations being made on social media and by some of those involved in the recent protest against mandatory vaccines that there are many cases of vaccine injury here that are being covered up appear to be largely unfounded.

Medical Officer of Health Dr Samuel Rodriguez-Williams also recently confirmed that, contrary to the message promoted by some of those leading the anti-vaccination campaigns, the death rate in Cayman over the last year has not increased. He said at a recent press briefing that the death rate has actually fallen and to date there is no evidence that the shots have caused anyone’s premature demise.

Around the world 6.45 billion doses of all COVID-19 vaccines have been administered across 184 countries, and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has not at this point verified any deaths as a direct result of the vaccines approved there. However, researchers are still evaluating if there is a connection between the Johnson and Johnson vaccine and rare types of blood clots.

Reports of potential deaths with a possible connection remain very low across the world but the distortion of the unverified data on the US official website VAERS, which enables self-reporting of vaccine events, is fuelling a false narrative about potential dangerous side effects. The VAERS website allows anyone to post a report regarding vaccine reactions but no cause-and-effect relationship is established with any of them.

Wish it was nobody. But currently is the patient. Soon it will be everyone as premiums increase as it did earlier this year for me.

Seems clear that vaccine side effects are under reported or not at all. If the government really want to report all side effects they need to have a doctor at the vaccination site to assess complaints free of charge. Therefore there is a central collection of data. Additionally it may help boost others to get vaccinated if they know side effects will be covered.

For sure there are perceived gaps in reporting. For example, the xenophobes aren’t told where inbound and end-quarantining positives came in from, and probably because it’s none of our business. It might be interesting to read a ballpark figure of much public money has been spent on hotel accommodations, but the busybodies would then ask the number of repeat guests since May 2020, and whether or not they were all essential trips on their scale.

It is important to recognize the fact that there is a very gray area of reporting and recording Covid and vaccine data because many deaths or complications are recorded as from natural causes and in the cases of death only conducting an autopsy on all deaths would reduce or remove this gray area in records and data obtained. “Food for Thought”; The UK Govt. Office of National Statistics has recorded over 136K deaths from Covid and 30+K deaths within 21 days of taking the Vaccine. Now multiply those UK statistics by 5.5 times being the multiple of the US population compared to the UK population and the US data is an absolute joke.

I was fine before the Jab and now I have an arterial arrhythmia that began the day after the 1st dose and it turned into a full blown arterial fibrillation hours after the 2nd dose. It will not go away and my cardiologist says I will now require a surgery to correct the issue with an 80% chance it will be successful. I have never had any issue before the jab and now I require a major surgery. They refuse to say it had anything to do with the Jab. I was pressured and bullied into getting this jab by coworkers and family and now my life is in ruins as I have lost my job and can’t function until I get the surgery. Shame on all you who pressure others. It is not good for all. If I had to do it again I would never have rolled up y sleeve.

@ 8:30am I am relieved to see comments being posted on the downside of the vaccine. I was getting sick of all the heavy one sided push to vaccinate by so many ppl. I still have not gotten the jab. Not because I am a conspiracy theorist, I am neither for or against. I just have this overwhelming fear of having adverse side effects or worse. There is no way anybody could comfort me by telling me I felt fine before a vaccine and developed the issues that you have since taking it. That just would not sit well with me but what can you do? I sincerely believe in leaving people to decide if they will take it or not because if shit hits the fan, you are very likely on your own to deal with the aftermath. Follow your gut instinct and stick to it. I pray you feel better and your surgery is successful.

Who can we report vaccine reactions to? What a pile of horse manure. You go to a doctor and complain of symptoms you never had and all they do is shake their head and say “we don’t have enough data to know if this is vaccine related”. Where can we log our symptoms line inflammation in the heart area? We need a centralized way of logging these.

    • Anonymous says:

So very true. I tried to report directly to those giving the vaccine. Was told to go see my doctor. I said I already did. They said to go back and force the doctor to do more tests. Huh ?? I cannot spend unlimited money forcing a doctor to do tests on me. So I live with variable pain every day. If I had to do it over I do not think I would take the vaccine.

I just read in another media that doctors have said that GBS (Guillain Barre Syndrome) would not have occurred within a day of any infection (including reaction to the vaccine. It would have taken at least two weeks. In the Cayman case, if I recall correctly, symptoms of GBS occurred within days of or the day after vaccine. That type of proximity is not seen with GBS, the specialists said. they are hypothesizing that the patient may have had an infection that passed without awareness by patient.

      Just reporting what I read.

Praying for her full recovery. I can only imagine the trauma for all.

      • Anonymous says:

Based on observations that have been repeatedly confirmed and for all practical purposes it is accepted as true that GBS begins with infectious agents such as influenza virus for example. A theory being a concept that we consider as truth given the evidence.

Researchers who study vaccine reaction rates find that GBS is more strongly associated with the flu vaccine compared to any other type of immunization. Flu vaccines do contain(ed) live, weakened or dead influenza viruses=infectious agents.

The Journal of the American Medical Association cites Guillain Barré as the most frequent neurological condition reported after getting the flu vaccine.

mRNA vaccines contain NO “infectious agents”, therefore, in agreement with the accepted theory, can’t cause GBS, UNLESS a totally different (unknown to science yet) mechanism of GBS development comes into a play after an mRNA jab.

Since mRNA vaccines contain no infection agents, time frame for GBS development, as an argument if there is link or not, is irrelevant – a person who develops GBS right after mRNA jab must be already ill with some sort of infection. Concomitant infections are frequent among those developing GBS after BNT162b2 mRNA vaccines.
        https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1521661621001558

Simply put, it doesn’t matter how much time has passed after mRNA inoculation, because the accepted time frame for GBS development is based on the introduction of an infection agent to a human body – via a vaccine or some other natural way.

Having said that, FDA did announce 100 preliminary reports of GBS following Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine which contain human adenovirus.

Pfizer covid vaccine is an mRNA vaccine, no infection agents in it.

J&J covid vaccines are based on a different platform which include human adenovirus as an infection agent.

Unless more people develop GBS immediately after getting Pfizer jab(s), science would defend its conclusion that GBS only develops after introduction of an infection agent (which is absent in Pfizer vaccine) to a human body and it takes from few days to weeks for the symptoms to appear.

I wish full and speedy recovery for the beautiful girl who is getting her treatments in Florida. Hats of to her mom for trusting her instincts and taking the girl to the US for diagnostics.

      • Anonymous says:

So why was GB syndrome listed as one of the possible side effects after trials by the FDA then? It’s sad to see that Caymans consent form is seriously lacking information compared to other countries that list all possible side effects while also clarifying the vaccines are investigational. How is this informed consent?

So I guess the (to me extreme) changes to my heart, aren’t considered serious enough to make it into the 10? My heart is beating irregularly, speeding up and slowing down to the point where I can’t breathe. I exercised every day before the vaccine, and now need to lie down much of the day.

I went through every test I could until insurance ran out to pinpoint the issue. Doctors finally said it is hard to note cause, but with no other factors available it is likely that Covid or the vaccine affected me. Well, I didn’t HAVE Covid, but I certainly had the vaccine.

The response was beta blockers and possibly surgery in a few months. Great. Also a quiet warning not to take any booster. Quiet?? What about protect the patient?

I was not asked to record this information in any database. In fact, it started after the official survey. I don’t think anyone wants to associate the negative with these vaccines. I admit they are doing a lot of good. But not for me!

What is the opposite of a conspiracy theorist? A propagandist?

    • Anonymous says:

Did they do Tilt Table Test? Health City has the equipment to do the procedure. Did your doctor do “Active stand test” – your heart rate and blood pressure are measured after lying down, immediately upon standing, then after 2, 5 and 10 minutes (standing). Paid attention to your legs while you were standing to see if blood pools into your legs?

You can do it yourself at home, if you have HR and BP monitor (sold in every pharmacy). What you describe indicates POTS- easy to diagnose and every doctor in the year 2021 must at least have basic knowledge of Dysautonomia, an umbrella term for many conditions, one of which is POTS. 1 in 100 teenagers has POTS, many misdiagnosed.

      https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/news/articles/on-the-heels-of-covid-19-influx-of-patients-with-pots-symptoms

Many develop POTS like symptoms after having COVID, don’t know about connection to COVID vaccines.

As someone who has POTS for 11 years, beta-blockers, one in particular, “cardioselective beta-1-selective adrenergic agonist” (can’t write its name here) is the safest one and is a life saver for me. And you only need 1/4 or 1/2 of 25mg pill. They say this beta-blocker is an old school, I am telling you this is the only one that works for me and causes no side effects.

Don’t want to disappoint you, if you indeed diagnosed with POTS, it comes with too many symptoms for which there is no treatments, but symptoms management. But with cardioselective beta-1-selective adrenergic agonist you at least will be able to sit, stand and walk, AND many people do get better with time.

This article is BS in so many ways. It’s so frustrating. I personally know in my family four people in my family having adverse reactions. 1. Horrible painful irregular periods. 2. Constant high blood pressure (now wearing a blood pressure monitor) and a swollen lymph node in the neck that won’t go down 3. Various persistent and specific muscular and joint pain and constant fatigue. 4. Blood clots and now on blood thinners. All of these have been noted as adverse reactions happening around the world and I’m pretty sure none of these people are counted in this TEN! And all four of them mentioned to the medical practitioner that they felt it was triggered by the vaccine and that they never had the issues prior. All four of them were basically dismissed and no connection was not noted. So I would venture to say my family is not the only one with this experience.

And CNS likes to pick on VAERS but what they don’t do is mention is the Harvard study of how underreported the database is and that there are many other databases around the world that are capturing very similar data.

Having said that, the UK parliament was on its second reading a couple weeks back on a Bill for compensation to persons severely affected by Covid vaccines. Keeping a track on how that goes and shared with my MP because whilst UK has NHS, we don’t. So compensation will be quite a different animal when you assess people’s personal costs.

Sadly, the damage will also be done to health insurance as far as increasing rates from all those claiming after suffering vax adverse effects.
