    TRUE STORY

Friday 1pm – bought bicycle with intention on riding for exercise.

Saturday 4:30pm – attempted to ride said bike and was almost side swiped by nut job driver only ten minutes into the ride.

Saturday 6pm – put bicycle on Ecaytrade for sale.

It is beyond me why these bus drivers are not prosecuted for stopping in the MIDDLE of the road to let passengers disembark. This is not the first death directly related to a bus which has stopped to let a passenger off. How many more must die before action is taken to stop these Road Runner style drivers from doing as they please. There are allocated bus stops and our well paid Members Of Parliament need to allocate more of these stops while insisting they are properly used.

What does it take for more sidewalks, walking lanes, well lit roads and pedestrian crossings to be built & installed in Cayman? Such a crying shame 😢 the loss of life due to reckless and drunk driving and the speed limits in high residential areas should be max 30mph and the use of speeding/live cam be in use. Lets hope that the BT MLAs will be proactive in trying to find solutions. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the victim.

Looks like we might need speed bumps all throughout the island seriously

So sad and an unnecessary death. RIP and condolences to the family. Drivers. Where are you going in such a hurry on this small island? Please remember it is better to be late than dead on time !

My condolences to the family. This is another reason why we need high definition CC cameras on these problem areas.

Why bother with Bus stop areas?
These Bus drivers stop anywhere in the Road as they please.

Prosecute the Bus Driver for negligence and we see how fast they stop the foolishness of stopping halfway on the road and pulling back onto traffic without due caution.
    RIP

The roads in Grand Cayman are not safe for pedestrians or cyclists. The people driving are often distracted, tired or under the influence of legal or illegal substances.

I have always been shocked by the dearth of pedestrian walkways in the Cayman Islands. This is especially so on the Brac. It is only by the grace of the Almighty that someone isn’t struck down at Tibbets turn / Watering Place every weekend! There is just no excuse for the inadequate facilities for CI walkers. Every busy intersection should have a pedestrian overpass, an underpass, or a traffic control device that a pedestrian can initiate.

Really sad news. Condolences to his family. You would think with this recent horrible accident these imbeciles would slow down for a few days but no such luck. Around 10:15 this morning I was driving east just up the road from woodland drive when someone zipped pass me on a motor bike, weaving in and out of traffic between the two lanes of traffiic going in opposite directions. There is absolutely no reason to carry on like this.

To this Gentleman family and friends, I am so sorry for your loss.

As a new arrival, just please slow down, where you going to?

Last thing you need is more deaths or police speed traps on every corner.

    Rip

My concodelences to the family if the victim. May he rest in peace.

With such a horrible situation, I appeal to everyone STOP walking, jogging or cycling on our roads. Our roads can only accommodate vechicles. Finally, drivers slow down especially when buses are stopping to let off or on passengers. Two seconds of patience might safe a life.

Alternatively, if road users could all follow the rules, that’d be great.

That means, cars slow down, cyclists use lights, buses pull in using indicators and only where safe…

I already know those won’t happen, so we’re all screwed with the hundreds of other rules.
