(CNS): After many months since police last reported on a stolen car, thieves have struck in Bodden Town, making off with one of the most common models to be stolen in the Cayman Islands. A white 2000 Honda Civic, registration #168 371, was last seen at about 10:30 last night parked at an address off Shamrock Road, Bodden Town. It was discovered missing this morning, Friday, at about 6:20am.

Anyone who spots this vehicle is asked to contact 911, or anonymous tips can be provided to the RCIPS Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777 or the police website. Tips can also be submitted anonymously via the Miami-based call centre of Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS), or online.

This is why I have put a GPS tracker in my car, motorcycle AND boat. They cut the chain for my motorcycle at 3:30 am while I slept. Geofence alarm went off, and I was in their yard waiting for police by 4 am.

Let me guess, nothing ever happened to the people who stole your property?

CayGPS sorted me out. Very pleasant young Caymanian, set up everything for me. Much cheaper than the dealerships too that charge hundreds just to install it.

Smells like a chop shop exporting parts.

Well, it looks like every single car that drives as close to me as possible and then overtakes at 50mph over the limit.

I’m sure the police are already looking all over West Bay.

Why its mostly Honda Civic stolen ,

    • Anonymous says:

      High demand for parts

      • Anonymous says:

Honda parts get the highest prices in our marketplace, especially West Bay.

More like the trash that drive them with blacked out windows and idiotic wheel nuts don’t want to pay for parts.

          • PBodden says:

The regulations that deal with the wheel nuts and blacked out windows are not enforced by the RCIPS which goes a long way to explain why drivers of these vehicles think they can act with impunity.

Introduce a law that allows police to seize and scrap a car that the owner refuses to bring up to standard and you solve a lot of problems in one stroke!
