(CNS): Police have released CCTV images of a suspect they want to find in relation to a serious violent assault on Seymour Drive (aka Dump Road) almost three weeks ago. A couple walking close to a bar in the area were reportedly attacked by three men with knives. The woman suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital recovering, while her partner was released after being treated for minor wounds.

The assault, which was one of several knife crimes in the last few weeks, happened at about 1am on Monday, 24 August. Since the investigation opened police have secured CCTV footage and have released images of one man who is a suspect in the investigation. They are asking the public to help them identify the individual.

Anyone who knows who this man is or knows where he is should contact George Town CID at 949-4222 or A/DS Bradshaw at 925-3491.

Anonymous tips can be provided to the RCIPS Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777 or the police website. Tips can also be submitted anonymously via the Miami-based call centre of Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS), or online.

If the suspect is or ever entered Cayman on a work permit (assuming he is not Caymanian), should CBC hold his photo on file. It should be digitised by now. Can’t the police cross check records and use facial recognition to identify the individual. Then use phone records and mobile phone technology to track the suspect’s location?

You just moved here I take it pal?

Maybe too many people of same nationality, don’t want to get rid of their fellow men causing problems, still don’t get it that if they don’t help to decrease crime regardless of nationality, we all suffer. Racism BY new Caymanians will be the islands’ downfall, their financial benefits are shortsighted

And still people live in the bosom of Satan thinking that God is blind.
Do you have ANY idea of how futile this is?
Chasing sex, vanity, fame, money, political power, military power, public opinion.
    So pathetic. All vanity.
How can a man that will die chase something that is temporary?
This is the height of insanity.
    Seek the eternal.

I don’t care what anyone says. Filipino people are much nicer, well mannered, CIVILIZED and educated than the average Jamaican the come to Cayman. They don’t have a chip in their shoulder.

    • Anonymous says:

True. Many of them also live in poverty similar to Jamaicans but don’t commit nearly as many crimes. Must be a cultural thing.

      • Anonymous says:

It’s a educational thing. They tend to be more enlightened, shall I say.

The only thing worse than these criminals that are imported, are the low class fools from here that get knocked up for them. And, then turn around and marry them just to help them get immigration points.

I AGREE with you there and let the women committ financial crimes and go to prison too, also as soon as they become paper Caymanians they embark on bringing their young kids from Jamaica

5.30 If I was to ever run my own business (which I won’t because I am NOT giving 60% of my business to a Caymanian)I would only employ Philipinos. The hardest working, most honest and reliable bunch of people I have ever met. Absolute Trojans these guys and girls.

    • Anonymous says:

Philippine women are running a racket here too with a lot of local married men and also multiple other nationalities of men.

      • Anonymous says:

        At least they are civilized.

There are gold diggers of all nationalities here. Did you ever hear the story about the barmaid who married the partner of a law firm? Or the doctor? Or the high-earning finance guy? Which story am I talking about? Take your pick. I’m not saying I blame them – why shouldn’t a woman want the comfort and security of a wealthy husband – but let’s not look down on Filipino (or Latina) women doing the same thing. Gold digging isn’t a white privilege!

So shut it!

In the good old days people like this one were put up in homes belonging to senior immigration officials who had “no idea” who there lodges were.

Come see who he married to now.

Way to convict a guy before he has a chance!!

Don’t be silly. We hardly convict anyone anyway.

This country is so full of hate. Xenophobia, racism, bigotry. Does the hate not tire you lot? Damn

We do not like foreign nationals coming here and stabbing people, we no not like their fellow countrymen remaining mute as to their identity. There is nothing wrong with that.

        • Anonymous says:

not to mention bringing their nasty habits of littering the place.. I’ve witnessed it before many times so I know which nationality to call out, tired of it

      • Anonymous says:

        Where are you from?

  7. Anonymous says:

Trouble is a large number of the Immigration officers maybe “Caymanian” but they are “half” another nationality! So there starts the problem. I was offered a good job in Jamaica in 1969
and it was turned down because a “national” could do the job. I returned to Cayman then and now worry about the “blanket” permits given to our friends from the rest of the Caribbean. They are escaping poverty, but once they get here, they want tell how to do things! We will end up like their bankrupt countries, for sure!

pretty clear photo should should be easy to pick out

  9. Anonymous says:

The photo is pretty clear so this guy should easily be identified. If not it says a lot about our current morals as a community.

I thought people come to cayman for a better life if you ain’t willing to change your life then people like him should go back home…

2:35 pm, you are 100 % right, too many Jamaicans here period, they are the worst expats people we have here, that’s a fact. With crime. Won’t stay in line and wait their turn, stop in the middle of the lane and talk to a friend and won’t move, walking and riding bicycle at night with dark clothe on and always saying bad things about these Caymanian Islands. The educated one are fine, but the others are a nuisance to these Islands

    • Anonymous says:

And get multiple stupid young Caymanian girls pregnant and then abandon them.

      • Anonymous says:

But still get 40 points to their PR for their “contribution”.

        A disgusting outrage.

      • Anonymous says:

It takes two to “tango” – ………those Caymanian girls are the product of these islands’ “Strong Christian Heritage”, as the wing nuts would have us believe.

Not to mention the harassment of women. Whistling, hey baby’s, other weird noises directed at them.

You all are just hateful, ignorant people when it comes to Jamaica and Jamaicans but what I realize is that most of you are just racist and jealous because you all praise america as one of the best places in the world when in fact that the chances of you dying by a bullet as a innocent person is a 100% greater than you dying in a accident, you all are just plain stupid, smfh.

        • Anonymous says:

Huh? What does this have to do with catcalling women? You are an apologist who can’t see the truth.

        • Anonymous says:

100% greater? A bit generous with the percentages here eh? What’s funny is you state made up facts and then call other people stupid. Really? Smh.

        • Anon says:

The chances of dying by bullet in the USA are only significant in places overwhelmingly inhabited by persons of African descent. This is a fact. If black lives really mattered, the police would be empowered to search any male (especially black males) in his 20s and 30s and remove their illegal guns and knives. Such would save the lives of thousands of young black men.

        • Anonymous says:

Your views of America are a bit our of whack. You can come to America and walk in a lot of places and Never fear getting hit by a bullet, ever. There are some cities that have a section or two that have dangerous areas in them, but it is not the whole city. Please, come visit and you will see how bullets do not fly everywhere in America.

More Jamacian BS being imported as skilled labor. Immigration needs to go proper background checks prior to issuing work permits

And when Mac gives people status Without any checks at all? And the police do nothing?

      • Anonymous says:

It may help that numerous persons involved in law enforcement were also direct beneficiaries of Mac’s largesse. I am not sure which is worse. Him handing out status like candy, or law enforcement ‘professionals’ accepting it.

      • BeaumontZodecloun says:

I don’t know about that; I’m quite certain some cheques were involved. 😀

    • Anonymous says:

2:35, I suspect this is not imported Jamaican labour…most of them are doing fine by Jamaican standards and would not get into this. But the Jamaican problem started here in the 80s when Linford Pierson, seeking the Jamaican vote (which he got) ordered Immigration and the Education system to allow over a thousand children of Jamaicans working here to be allowed to enter and to be legitimized as “step children” (since most of their parents, usually mothers, were with living with a Caymanian). These kids had never lived with their birth parents and were living feral lives in Jamaica with grandparents etc. When they came here, the feral factor continued and the schools had terrible discipline problems, which of course were blamed by the politicians and “the Glass House” on principals and teachers. There are many many law abiding lower socioeconomic Jamaicans living in Cayman….and there are these feral descendants of feral imports courtesy of a politician of yesteryear.
