‘NHS saved my life,’ says Boris

PM Boris Johnson send a video message of thanks to medical staff

(CNS): British Prime Minister Boris Johnson thanked the many nurses and “utterly brilliant” doctors at St Thomas’ Hospital in a video posted on social media on Sunday after he was discharged from the teaching hospital in Central London where he had been treated for COVID-19. The Conservative Party leader said it was the National Health Service (NHS) that saved his life, as he described the UK’s health system as the “beating heart” of the country.

In his video message, Johnson said there was no question that “the NHS saved my life”.

The PM was admitted to hospital a week ago after his symptoms worsened while he was trying to battle the virus in self-isolation at the Downing Street flat. A few days after he was admitted he was moved to intensive care, where “things could have gone either way”, but the nurses made sure he got the oxygen he needed, he said.

Still looking a little worse for wear, the prime minister appeared keen in the video to send the message to the country that, despite his ordeal, he was back at the helm of the UK and its battle against COVID-19, as he urged people to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.

However, Johnson and his administration were very late in locking down the UK and as a result, the country is expected to see some of the worst effects of the pandemic in Europe. The NHS is also creaking under the strain, with personal protective equipment shortages up and down the country.

Nineteen front-line healthcare professionals from the NHS have died as a result of the virus. Health Secretary Matt Hancock has claimed he is unaware of any link between the deaths and a lack of PPE but said that an investigation would be carried out.

Hancock has been criticised over his comments that staff should not overuse their PPE. Medical staff have pointed out they are not abusing it but the health ministry has failed to provide what they need, forcing them to re-use what they have because of chronic shortages.

Around noon on Sunday the UK had recorded 84,279 COVID-19 cases with 5,288 new cases in the last 24 hours. To date, 10,612 people have died in the UK as a result of this novel coronavirus which is now the fifth largest death toll in the world.

    “Hi Boris, it’s Donald!”

“Hi Donald (cough), how are you keeping?”

“Great! Well I just wanted to call you and wish you a speedy recovery. Personally I thought it was a Democrat hoax until my people told me that people were dying in the USA. I heard people are dying in other parts of the world too. Amazing! You know Hunter Biden has business associates in Wuhan, who own a research lab. That’s where it started and they released it to try to bogart my re-election. Were you really ill?”

“Thanks Donald. Yes I was really ill. I can assure you that it’s no hoax!”

“Yeah, well, perhaps you weren’t in the greatest shape. I note that you’re carrying a bit of weight last time we met.”

“Well, I lost two stone in the past two weeks (cough), so that should take care of that.”

“Anyway, about the NHS. You recall our discussion about that before all this happened, hope you haven’t changed your mind about scrapping it?”

Donald, I don’t know that I was ever planning to scrap it, like you are trying with Obamacare but in any case (cough), I’ll rethink it all because they saved my life – especially those two foreign nurses who stayed by my bedside.”

“You mean the two immigrants? I heard. Well, that’s a result of Britain being in the EU for so long. Glad you’re finally rid of those Europeans!”

“Ummm, actually New Zealand isn’t a EU member although Portugal is, but having nurses like those in the NHS is a good thing. Don’t you think?”

Naah, I don’t know. I wouldn’t feel comfortable with immigrants treating me, with all the American experts we have here but to each his own.”

“Well Donald my Pakistani-born home doctor just came in with my meds, so we’ll have to continue this conversation at another time.”

“Take care Boris, and remember I’m counting on you to lobby support for my re-election from different leaders. I know I’m good with Guiseppe, Bolso and Alex but I could use some help with Macron and that little Canadian. That’s where you could really help.”

“Ehhh, Donald, I believe that’s what caused your impeachment, trying to influence foreign leaders”.

“Impeachment?! Boris, that was a hoax! I wasn’t impeached! At least not technically, I was acquitted, so it doesn’t count!

“Cheerio Donald, I really must go!”

Although Boris Johnson stated after his election that the NHS was “safe” under his leadership, insiders know that he was under great pressure from Trump to turn the NHS into a “Trump-style” health care organization, as the orange moron wants to do with Obamacare.

Perhaps now the NHS may really remain “safe” under Johnson and indeed, receive more funding !!

      Boris “I lied.”

NHS Nurse “So how much are we going to get extra every week”

Boris “About £500m a week less. The experts were right. We are screwed”

This ought to be a teachable moment where a true leader would own earlier dismissive “bad flu” comments and walk back “mild case” mischaracterisations. Many in the UK, and here, still don’t understand how debilitating a “mild”/non-hospitalization case actually is.

So, Almighty God poured out his mercy and grace over the crazy haired Leader from across the pond and brought him through a serious bout of COVID-19, unleashed on us by the Chinese while the WHO slept. Now on to greater things..Fighting this Pandemic and holding the Chinese and WHO accountable. Also, removing the UK (and us) from that NWO Globalist institution, the EU.

I usually do not agree with you… but. Every nation should hold China and WHO accountable.

Every American should hold Donald Trump accountable. On December 31, 2019 America was informed by the WHO about the coronavirus. Then on January 24th the “stable genius” praised “Jyna” and its leader for the excellent work they had undertaken with the virus while Trump’s intelligence people were telling him the opposite including Peter Navarro his senior policy adviser.

In February, Trump did absolutely nothing saying it was a “Democratic hoax” and just the flu.

So now he needs to find somebody to blame, so who better than the WHO and “Jyna”.

The golden rule of Trump, NEVER ACCEPT ACCOUNTABILITY.

Glad you are doing better Boris! Maybe now you will be more willing to give the NHS more funding rather than capping it at every turn? Hmmmmm?

Don’t encourage the PM to go back to the $$$ printing presses? Mr. Johnson keep do what you’re doing. Throwing more money at the problem, is never a solution, when you’re kicking debts down the road for future generations!

Thinking about future generations is not what matters to someone who imposed Brexit against the wishes of the majority of voters.

Another intellectual midget, the UK had a referendum and the majority spoke. Thank god someone finally stood up to those, as I like to call them “unelected scum” in Brussels. The UK got her independence back, too bad if think that’s a bad thing.

Huh, the NHS, despite all its good work, is still being overwhelmed and underfunded to efficiently handle the pandemic. I wonder who is reponsible for that?

How is that free health care in Cayman working out for you? Oh wait, there isn’t any. Just a rip off insurance system that vastly overcharges for minimal cover, and then barely pays any of the costs when you make a claim. Good job.

4:05, Just like the rip off health care insurance system in America. Co-pays going up an up every year. System has become a total joke in America unless you have a lot of shares in health insurance companies. These companies consistently make billions in profits every year. No wonder they want to kill Obamacare.

One of the really sad things about hundreds of people who have caught the coronavirus in New Jersey and New York State, is that they have decided to die at home rather than go to hospital because they simply have no health insurance or will not be able to afford the co-pays.

Many of the people who are sick have lost their jobs so are financially having difficulties.

In a society as wealthy as America this should not be happening.

Will take the universal health care of Canada, UK, Australia, Germany and any other developed western country over the American health care system driven totally by the profit motive.

I hate trump but he clearly stated the US gov will foot the bill for any covid patient if they can’t pay. Now, the kicker is that the gov will reimburse them so that’s where this doesn’t help.

No the kicker is that most Americans cannot get tested. Nearly impossible in Floriduh unless you have millions or billions or live on Fisher Island. Thousands still waiting to get tested in New York and New Jersey. May be months before they get tested.

A month ago, Trump said while visiting CDC, that anyone that wants to get a test can get one. A pathological liar.

Furthermore, Trump said the US Govt would foot the bill for any covid patient but that is simply not true. Just another Trump lie.
His lies just continue and continue.

The tone of the reply makes me think you thought I was ripping on the NHS. To be clear, I’m ripping on the Tories who thank the NHS while plotting every which way to plunder and disect it.
