(CNS): The RCIPS is asking the public to help them find Davian Thompson, who is suspected of a violent attack on his estranged wife on Tuesday night, in which she was stabbed in the head. Thompson has a dark complexion, is medium built and about 5′ 9″ tall. He is accused of attacking his ex at a parking lot on Shedden Road in George Town.

He fled the scene while his former partner was taken to the hospital by private car with serious injuries.

As the police try to locate Thompson, they are reminding the public that it is an offence to assist a person to avoid being arrested by the police, knowing that they might have committed a crime. The offence carries a maximum penalty of seven years in jail.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Davian Thompson is encouraged to call DI Morrison at 916-1045 or call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222

Anonymous tips can be provided to the RCIPS Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777, or website. Tips can also be submitted anonymously via the Miami-based call centre of Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS), or online.

Similarly, the public seeks an RCIPS Commissioner willing to deploy officers in the field and start enforcing some of our laws. How about we shoot for some demonstrable enforcement of 10% of our written laws in 2020? These guys move very slowly when the caviar Ritz banquet is already booked, and “better than last year” is the only performance benchmark.

Not only Immigration but Board members need to pay attention in their decision making. Just a few yrs back there was a Caribbean National working at a large Insurance company in Cayman. Most of the staff was not happy to be working under her as they complained of the disrespect and bad treatment from her. They decided to take it to the Monetary Authority and to the Immigration Department who dealt with the complaints and her w.permit was not further granted. Now this person is back on Island working at one of our Local Banks and holding down a big position not to say the least. What happened to the comments on the Internet and complaints ? .

How about when an employer terminates an employee justifiably and they are on a work permit. No problems of them getting another work permit. Where there are always three sides to a story what happens when the person was justifiably fired With proof. Why should they be allowed another permit ?

When a written complaint about permit holders are provided whether fired or not, even a domestic dispute such as this, the individual should never be provided another permit ever again. The person should not need to be charged in court.

Thst is how it used to be in the good old day? Was that part of the law changed? As things deteriorate in Jamaica it manifest itself in Cayman. No apologies, call a spade a spade. Bring back the law!,

Why did the police wait so long to ask for help? The identity of the suspect has been known for days.

Immigration, thank you for all your fine efforts in controlling the quality of person you allow to live amongst us. NOT!
