Of course we can’t turn back the clock but a whole pile of these no uses and imported rabble need to sent back home and deported I must congratulate the newly formed Customs and Immigration unit along with Deputy Governor’s office who have the absolutely right people in place to make that a reality and make these islands safer. Congrats Mr Manderson and all your staff keep up the good work!

Of course they need to be deported, but who let them in and why, in the first place? Same people?

This story is a lie. Obviously. Guns are illegal in cayman. And we all know criminals follow the rules.

So…what you do when you outlaw guns. Criminals can now do what they please with you. And there is nothing you can do about it.
    Like those firearm laws now?

Yeah! Brilliant comment. We need guns to be easily available to everyone in Cayman like it is in the US. Americans have lots of guns and look how safe they are. Criminals and crazy people never shoot anybody in the US because of all the guns

Nothing wrong with owning a firearm in your own home for protection. Saying anything to the contrary, means you don’t care about your family. Because the moment someone breaks into your home, and decides to kill you. You will regret your point of view, but then. It’s too late. Isn’t it. Or let me guess, that’s just an unfortunate incident that happened to you?

You are uninformed. If there is a gun in the home, it is far more likely to be used on a loved by accident or intentionally than an intruder. I know, science and facts can be so annoying.

I wish someone would explain to these criminals that: Guns are illegal in Cayman and they should have brought any illegal firearms to the gun amnesty…..

Ok corral yet again??? Come on people. This hardly ever happens here. Do you watch any news in the states. I check my hometown daily, and daily there are several shootings, every fricking day. Multiple people shot at various locations.
How many shootings have happened here this year??? Not so much. Get over it.

How many people live in your home town? We have a small town population of 60,000. The crime rate per capita here is out of control.

Out of control? Chill out with the exaggerating and the hyperbole. Cayman has one of the lowest per capital crime rates in the world. Prove me wrong with facts.

Gunfight at the OK coral yet again!!
What a place this is getting! Yes, I think you Port protesters are right, don’t bother building the port because all the escalating crime here will definitely keep tourists away. Such a shame on a beautiful island…….all going down the pan! How I wish for the good old days of 1980, when one road took you from West Bay to East End, the tranquil days of weekends in Rum Point and when you could leave your house and vehicle door unlocked. Waiting for the container ship to come to be able to get milk. This is what a true Caribbean island was all about……bliss!! 🏖

Good ole days? In those Flintstone days was still many murders, and no one got caught for more brutal killings because there were barely any guns.

The irony is that the generation that complains the most about Paradise Lost are the ones that threw it away. we are reaping the seeds the old heads planted, nothing more, nothing less. We can’t go back to a population of 15k so get over it.

You are right 5.05pm you can’t go back to the good old days materialistically as progress and technology moves on. However, knowing right from wrong hasn’t changed since Adam & Eve. Where has respect gone?

5:05 pm, the older heads didn’t sell their land, it was passed on from generation to generation. Only money hunters sold their land.

Well news flash this is not 1980 !!! That’s what’s wrong with y’all old folks now you have to learn how to adapt to changes. Yeah sure we all would love to leave our doors and windows wide open like back in the days but it’s just not going to happen in 2019 !! Cayman population is growing we have many different cultures many different races of people and with this brings many different lifestyles which is a blessing and a curse but we have to take the good with the bad. Times are getting harder jobs are scarce COST OF LIVING IS TOO HIGH !!!!! What you think is going to happen? Yet still cayman has 1or 2 shootings a year. By far the safest place to be !!! You don’t agree try living in Jamaica, USA, HONDURAS, Mexico , or anywhere your brain thinks it’s so much better and I bet you you will beg to get back to cayman !!

We do not have to take the good with the bad. Our whole immigration regime is calculated to exclude the bad.

10:21 This kind of thing has been going on for nearly three decades and it’s a lot more than ‘1 or 2 shootings a year’. Anyone remember the drive-by in the middle of George Town back in the early 1990s? Probably not because RCIPS and GIS kept it out of the press. I only heard about it from a nurse who’d treated the two casualties.
