Two people mugged in WB hours apart

Cayman News Service(CNS): Police are investigating two separate street robberies that happened in West Bay less than ten hours apart but appear to have been perpetrated by different people. The first of the two muggings happened off Rosett Close in the Mount Pleasant area at about 4:45pm Thursday, when a lone robber took a woman’s bag at knife point. The second happened off Birch Tree Hill Road early Friday morning, when a gang of men jumped a man and made off with cash and personal items.

In an RCIPS report about the first incident, police said that the woman had been walking when she was approached by a man brandishing a knife who demanded her handbag. After taking the bag, which contained cash and personal items, the man fled into nearby bushes. The woman was not injured in the incident, and the stolen bag, without cash, was later located nearby.

The suspect was between 5’8” and 5’10”, of brown complexion, and was wearing a long-sleeved grey shirt, dark pants and had covered his face with a shirt.

Then around 2am this morning in Birch Tree Hill Road a group of men physically assaulted another man who had just left a residence, causing him to collapse. As he did, the robbers made off with an undisclosed quantity of cash, bank cards, and personal items. Emergency services attended and treated the victim at the scene for minor injuries.

Both street robberies are now under investigation by West Bay CID and anyone with information, or who may have seen anything suspicious yesterday afternoon and early this morning is asked to contact West Bay CID at 949-3999.

Anonymous tips can be provided to the RCIPS Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777, or the website. Tips can also be submitted anonymously via the Miami-based call centre of Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS), or online.

Fine I will have to agree. It’s Jamaicans and West Bayer’s that need to be cut off from the island. Does that truth make you feel better?

Meanwhile West Bay has no active political representatives. One (Cabinet Minister) is permanently “out to lunch”; one (Speaker of the House) is inaccessible to constituents; one (MLA) is permanently asleep, the last one (Deputy Speaker?/MLA) is missing in action!

Ezzard please start seeking candidates in WB for your new Party!

This is where the Government need to focus on , not a cruise ship pier . If the crime continues like this there won’t be no need for a Airport or a pier , cause the crime is going to KILL the TOURISM .
They need to remember where the TOURIST comes from and the leaders of those Countries has the rights to protect their Citizens and say where they can go IF it is UNSAFE to be , just look Cuba .

When you remove the people’s tools and abilities to protect themselves, you empower the criminals who have no regard for the laws. It’s pretty basic, and historic.

Criminals are cowards. This will continue until we create a framework for law-abiding citizens to protect themselves. Until then, it will be rinse and repeat.

The tools were the Immigration Law, the Education Law, and the Maintenance Law. It is the government that refuses to enforce them. If it did, many of these crimes and criminals) would not exist.

Haven’t you all learned from America’s mistakes on no laws for gun control, all those massacres committed by firearms(legal BTW)and the individuals who couldn’t be profiled because they seemed to be upstanding citizens, imagine that happening here on our Little Rock, gun crime here is bad enough but it is left up to the police to get off their asses and do some real police work like stepping up on the rewards for information leading to an illegal firearms arrest and I guarantee that every Tom,Dick,Harry,Larry,Curly and Moe would be turning in their own brother for a hefty sum of money, trust me the struggle is real and if we try to fight these problems with fire then all four corners of this island will surely get burnt, maybe you should go back to where you came from and try to fix your own problems with that type of mentality being that those results certainly works within your favor.

That part of the island just needs to be cut off or…..make it the district that allows all drugs. Let them all overdose themselves. The ones that are left behind can join the rest of the island after a year.
