Protect Our Future protest to save mangroves in the Cayman Islands

(CNS): As the threats and challenges presented by climate change and species extinction become increasingly apparent, environmental activists in the Cayman Islands are calling another public meeting this month to galvanise more support for local action. The Cayman group of Protect our Future, a movement spearheaded by young people around the world, will be hosting the meeting. Everyone concerned about the impending climate crisis is urged to join them on 26 June in South Sound

The meeting will cover general environmental issues in Cayman as well as specific areas of concern, such as the proposed cruise berthing project, the threat to Barkers by development and the government’s plans to gut the National Conservation Law.

The entire universe is a construct that has been created according to laws. Many of the laws of the Creator have been discovered such as Newton’s Laws, Kepler’s Law, Bernouilli Principle, Boyle’s Law, ad nauseam.
These learned people did not create anything, they merely postulated a theory and set about proving it.
Understanding and applying these laws and principles have been fundamental to the advancement of mankind’s technical abilities.
The Creator did also leave us another law which I will call Murgatroyd’s Principle which simply states that if you continue to shit in your own nest, life eventually becomes unbearable.

Are all fundamental laws of nature, the axioms, are really fundamental?

      * Newton was obliged to give his laws of motion as fundamental axioms. But today we know that the quantum world is fundamental, and Newton’s laws can be seen as consequences of fundamental quantum laws.

      * The Law of Conservation of Mass dates from Antoine Lavoisier’s (the “Newton of chemistry,” ) 1789 discovery that mass is neither created nor destroyed in chemical reactions stood UNTIL biological transmutation as a way of changing one element into another has been proved by C. Louis Kervran.

“The thing is, we do not have to believe that something works a particular way in order for it to actually work. If one is stuck in the Lavoisier universe where elements don’t transmute, and many are, then what is necessary is more sophisticated research, done with an open mind by researchers who aren’t going to skew the results to fit a preconceived notion.”

As you are no doubt aware, quantum physics is redefining the way we look at the universe and yes you are right, things are changing. What the scientists will not find is the God particle since all particles are by definition made from something and God is Spirit.
He’s not stupid and we are not capable of outsmarting Him.
Personally, I love science and technology and see them as a gift to help us live better lives.

These young people mean well and should be supported by all conscientious citizens and residents. I have a small peeve which is that there is a much broader community than that of South Sound, and if this movement is to really spark the hearts and souls and minds of everyone, meetings need to be held island wide. Just my two cents. Kudos to these brave ones.

      But who created the creator?

      • Anonymous says:

Good question and for that to have a valid answer within our limited intellect you would have to constrain a “created” creator to time.
Since pure consciousness, light and perfect love have always existed, temporal existence is simply a tiny speck in eternity and is pretty irrelevant except to us.
We are here for one reason only and that is to overcome evil through the love of God.
Those who have the courage to press into the truth and overcome their flesh, the world and the devil will ultimately share in the great reward.
If God had told me at the beginning all the trials and tribulations that I would have to face, I would not have signed up, but I am so glad I did. Life is an absolutely fantastic gift and even better, we have eternity to spend with Jesus, our Saviour.
Blessings to everyone searching for the truth.

Please please stand against the destruction of Barkers! OMG I think I will forever hate DART’s Development if they destroyed that haven with concrete. DART has done some some good but the destruction of Barkers is pure GREED. Who are their project leaders? Does no one in their boardroom have a soul?! Do they not understand? Do they only live for the paycheck and not care about the destruction of our environment? Is there anyone advising Mr. DART able to stand back and see the destruction for what it is and speak truth to power to him?! What is wrong with these people? What is wrong with our government for not standing up with the people for once. Declare this land public space and put a stop to this mental torment of destruction of this sanctuary or natural pristine off-the-beaten-path sanctuary. Mr. DART if you read the blogs by chance: please understand that the destruction of barkers beach and reserve will destroy the soul of the caymanian people. You will gain zero friends. In fact you may create so many enemies here that all the good your presence to this country may have brought will forever be lost in anger. It feels stupid appealing directly to you but our non-leadership leave us no choice. Please reconsider pursuing this. It is greed. Pure and simple. What a shame to all caymanians. Everywhere we go, we hear people tell us that the destruction of barkers cannot happen yet the push to destroy it by the developer continue. Why? Why? Why?! are our leaders not listening to the Caymanian people. Tears. Big Tears.

      Dear 6:04pm
      1. ” Mr. DART if you read the blogs” This is a news article it is not a blog. Either way, I sincerely doubt he reads these comments. (same as Mac) Nobody wants to see the negative things said about them. Nothing you nor anyone else says is going to change his agenda.
      2. “you may create so many enemies here” Pretty sure this has already happened… And not JUST ‘here’.
      3. How can this amount of people (educated or otherwise) believe that what Dart does is for altruistic reasons? Have you done any research on this man at all?? Anyone?

I wish there was a way, like some sort of search engine, that you could merely type in a name and find out information on the history of someone or something….
      I’ll just leave this here.
      On you go.

I agree with you 6:04pm!! Trying to improve on the natural beauty of barkers would be like saying: you’re going to destroy niagara falls with concrete because you want to make it better! How insane. GREED pure selfish GREED. His leadership team and ours should all be fired for pushing to destroy the ONLY haven this side of heaven on Grand Cayman. NOTHING on Grand Cayman comes close to the unique soul-restoring beauty of barkers. NOTHING!

Yeah! You’re right! It’s so stupid to want to protect the ecosystem which sustains human life. We can breathe, eat and drink water without nature. These dumb environmental whackos. All you have to do is go to a store and buy stuff. Who needs nature?

Because there are lots of people out there that don’t care about breathing, and they need you to explain it to them.

1 – Please name the species that are going extinct due to climate change, and please provide your scientific evidence that link these extinctions to specific identifiable changes in the climate.

2- Please demonstrate with scientific evidence the optimal climate for these species with specific measurements

3 – Please demonstrate with scientific evidence that these optimal conditions would otherwise exists, had humans not been around.

4- In the case of these special Cayman Plants going extinct, please show with scientific evidence that these plants do NOT excel in higher Co2 environments like every other plant on earth. For example in environments with Co2 level between 1500-2000 part per million, which is 4 to 8 times our current atmospheric Co2 levels.

5- Please provide scientofic a theory will stop these plants from going extinct

6- Please verify that your scientific hypothesis follows the scientific method and that your hypotheses are falsifiable.

Otherwise you’re just talking emotionally laced, I-just-want-to-feel-good-about-myself incompetent BS.

All your questions can be answered with minimal research. I have a life so I’m not going to do it for you. Turn off Fox News and turn to credible scientists for your science education. Seek out climate scientists for evidence-based information about the climate, not hack politicians. Stop listening to Rush Limbaugh and start reading New Scientist and Scientific American. Reality is fascinating and important. Try it.

It speaks volumes you didn’t refute or address a single point. You just spew ad hominem attacks like a typical emotional brainwashed liberal.

Educate yourself and try using your brain rather than gobbling up leftist talking point like a religious cultist

The most pertinent conservation challenge in Cayman is habitat loss/ destruction from development. Climate change’s main threat to Cayman is sea-level rise and coral bleaching. No one said climate change is threatening endemic plants in Cayman…. Please ask sensible questions rather than sit on your behind and complain about other people actually doing something…

Great, let’s save the mangrove by putting spray painted plastic sign everywhere in the wildlife. That certainly has been proved to save the mangrove…

“I’m sorry sir, I know you are about to build that 10 story condo on the magroves, but did you not see the sign there??” …… “Oh, I’m sorry, let me just pack up my backhoes and crew and buy another piece of property somewhere else”

Also, can someone actually define the action plan to save plants and humans from extinction and two, what the the actual measures of success?

Or is the plan to put up more plastic signs and protest?
