The way motorcyclists drive here is astonishing. But then again the way people drive cars here is also astonishing. That’s what a collapse in traffic policing does. Someone commented recently about how non traffic cops will just ignore any road related issue because it’s not their job. It needs to be every cops job to keep us safe and enforce laws. Why I don’t see cops hidden on the side of the road waiting to catch offenders more often is deplorable.

Poster at 6:26 am what kinda animal are you? many accidents happen that involve expensive sports cars and SUVS , I can just hear how arrogant you are, it doesn’t matter what you have it’s all just for a matter of time and bad happenings are not prejudice

I live close to Walkers Rd and every week I can hear high powered motorbikes being wound up to speeds that must well exceed 60mph. The riders use this road as a race track and I’m surprised that there have not been more serious accidents at this location.

Notice how most the accidents here are caused by people driving awful cars. Think about it, if you dont like driving, you probably aren’t very good at it. Therefore, you tend to buy an awful car.

So, not only are you bad at driving because you dont like it, you have an awful car that doesnt have any type of performance to avoid accidents. I avoid those tiny Japanese deathtraps and rental cars like the plague when I drive around here. Because 9 times out of 10 it’s always the most moronic and slow person you can imagine behind that wheel.

Death traps? I’ve got a “death trap” and I’m an excellent driver – never had an accident or even a prang in all my years of driving.

Given the nature of the way most of the motorcyclists conduct themselves on Cayman’s roads, I’d say that’s almost certainly where the liability resides.

No report on how the driver of the car is doing – I hope he/she is ok. It must be horrific being involved in any accident where another is injured.

I ride a motorcycle, and it’s almost a daily occurrence where a car driver waiting at a junction will choose the motorcycle to pull out in front of in a long line of traffic. The same thing happens at four-way stops and roundabouts where car drivers feel that they don’t have to give way to a motorcyclist because they know that the motorcycle and rider will receive far more damage in a collision, and hence will be forced to give up their right-of-way.

Should a car driver cause the death of a cyclist, it’s only a few scratches on their car, and they can depend on the likes of JoJo to pin the blame on the cyclist in a court of law.

Yes, there are stupid cyclist, both motorized and human-powered, but the number pales in comparison with the number of drivers who have absolutely no respect for cyclist.

You have it backwards, 99% of the time it’s the operator of the vehicle not the make of vehicle that causes the accident.

Hope you’re not one of those big truck/SUV drivers that think they’re immune, barrelling through traffic with your phone stuck to your ear. You badly need a reality check.

I drive a sportscar that can handle and has good brakes. Unfortunately you need it here because people dont look. Almost 20 years here no accidents.

Cool story bro. My breaks work great and my suv handles the road well, and if an idiot driving recklessly or absentmindedly crashes into me I stand a chance of surviving.

Yes, that’ll explain the Bentley that wrecked plowing into the Hurley’s roundabout a few weeks ago then. Ok sure.

I purposely choose to drive an old beat up car, as its so likely to get damaged be it parked in a shopping car park or by some idiot on the road.

having a nice car here is such a waste of money, its only purpose is trying to impress other people that you have money or you spend most of our monthly cheques on car repayments, and then complain you’re broke all the time.
