why can’t the police trace the license plate # to find out who the owner of the vehicle is?

  2. Anonymous says:

So there’s nothing to the car (serial number – license plate) to identify the owner.?.

Assuming the occupants were not taken straight to hospital (and I assume the police would know were that the case) Trump would call many drivers in Cayman “bad hombres.” He would be right. The number of criminal freely circulating (literally) in this small community is astounding. The police need to act with greater tenacity and force to clean this place up, and the courts and public need to give them full support in doing so. This crap is simply too prevalent and needs to be stamped out.

I think most people would agree but absolutely no need to mention Trump.
Quit trying to force us to imbrace such a hateful and divisive human being.

Like the assumption it’s an illegal alien that’s responsible. Bigoted much – just saying.

No. Most drivers in Cayman (like most people in Cayman) are expatriates. Many expatriate drivers in Cayman (like many Caymanians) drive with disregard for the laws, and the safety of others. We have rules that are supposed to stop foreign nationals from even coming here to live if they do not make Cayman a better place. Is that bigoted?

Do you have a source for those stats, other than your assumptions? genuine question , since the last stats I saw from ESO still had Caymanians as a majority and wasn’t aware that anyone kept stats on nationality of drivers.

              • Anonymous says:

The ESO statistics drastically undercount the expatriate population and in addition, includes certain non Caymanians as Caymanians. The ESO stats do not include persons on temporary work permits, or due to be rolled over in less than 6 months. Meanwhile, they count anyone who says they are Caymanian as Caymanian, resulting in inaccurate data.

To make Cayman safer and crime free again a lot more than the driving skills need to change: for instance living situations that lead to people going out of there way to make ends meet ( and yes i mean rent is way too high and i am caymanian and i have a what so called good job) another thing that needs to change is the driving test it is not accurate at all with all of our Road signs and also it doesn’t help like the book does; my on the road test was extensive and very good not sure what can be done in that area maybe it was the instructor that i got… and i can go on but gotta get back to my so called good job.
