Cayman News Service(CNS): A 40-year-old man from West Bay has been charged with aggravated burglary, wounding and robbery in connection to a home invasion in the Batabano area of the district last month. He is the second person arrested in the violent incident and is expected in court today, Monday. In the wake of the crime, police arrested a 53-year-old man but he has not been charged at this point. According to the original report, the victim was attacked and robbed by just one man wielding a machete.

The masked culprit had broken into a home in the area and demanded jewellery from the man inside. The victim put up a fight and was struck with the machete. The robber left the house but he searched the victim’s vehicle before fleeing on foot with personal items.

Emergency services attended the scene and the victim was taken for treatment for injuries, including lacerations to his head and arm.
