Is it perhaps time for the Government to provide a fund to put lifeguards at public beaches? Will be a good opportunity to provide positive press instead of negative. Along with not only the chance for Caymanians to become employed but to learn valuable life skills?

What I meant by saying , I wonder if the Internet played any part , was that if there were other people along with the elder lady . That if there wasn’t Internet for them to get it , they wouldn’t have been on the Internet and would have been in the water with her , or watch her that could have prevented the tragedy , RIP to the Lady .

7:24 I thank you made a valid point. People are consumed with the Internet and being in their own world these days.

A very sad thing to happen but it is legally wrong, and completely unnecessary, to report that she drowned. The cause of her death will not be officially confirmed until the inquest.

This so sad – she’s 80 years old, still traveling and enjoying life and drowns in our beautiful waters. I wonder if she was swimming alone. RIP

Where’s all the cries for lifeguards? Surely she would have been saved!

8:44pm , did the elder lady go to Smith Cove alone ? When I go to the beach with elder people and younger kids I don’t need life guards .

Why have internet on the beach ? If it is true, then shut it down, the beach and water is to enjoy if someone want internet then stay home
