(CNS): Police are appealing for help tracking down two suspected burglars caught on camera trying to break into a home in the Fairbanks area of George Town back in January. The attempted burglary was reported to police on Thursday, 3 January, and officers began an inquiry, but so far the suspects have not been found. The men, who were unable to gain entry to the home, are described as tall, slim built, wearing light coloured shirts and long pants. Detectives have released stills from CCTV footage of the suspects’ efforts and are hoping members of the public may be able to identify them.

Anyone with information on the identity of the men is asked to call George Town Police Station at 949-4222 or email at Shaun.Anderson@rcips.ky.

Anonymous tips can be provided directly to the RCIPS via our Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777, or via the RCIPS website. Tips can also be submitted anonymously via the Miami-based call centre of Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS), or online.

If you’re going out to steal, wouldn’t it make sense to wear shoes that you could run in if caught?

I have people tell me video is a great security device but I have never seen anyone caught and convicted using video evidence. Am I wrong? I have heard stories that do not compliment the use of CCTV.

Looks fresh off of the fishing boats to me or maybe from the Cuban detention center which is also located in that area, and if that is the case then you know for sure it won’t be reported, local criminals are dumb enough but at least they would have the common sense to hide their identity, not like third world criminals who are not used to up scaled living.

Cayman is too easy on crime, maybe is U K fault, they are way too easy on crime and forcing the same on us
Cayman should adopt Singapore way dealing with crime, then we see the difference, but it seems like this Govt. does not care about the high crime rate shame shame.
