Owners urged to secure cars after five break-ins

Cayman News Service(CNS): Vehicle owners are being urged not to leave valuables in their cars and to park them in secure well-lit places after police received five reports of break-ins since Sunday. Two cars parked on Old Crewe Road were broken into on Sunday, and three more were broken into overnight Monday and early Tuesday in the Spotts Newlands area. In all of the reports the vehicle’s window was smashed and the interior ransacked. In some of the cases personal items were also stolen, including bags, bank cards and cash.

“The RCIPS is taking this opportunity to once again remind the public to avoid leaving any valuables in their vehicles, especially overnight and where they are visible to passersby. People should also take extra care to park vehicles in well-lit areas with security cameras nearby, if at all possible,” the police urged in a release.

So because I work hard to be able to afford having 5 cars and wanna leave certain valuables in my car over night for work the next day I’m not supposed to just because some total waste of sperm?!?!?! What they need is for someone to really set a bait car as another person has commented…. The only problem with that is the person who sets the bait car will be the one who gets screwed outta the whole ordeal!!!! Yet it’s ok for OUR shit to go missing because we left OUR valuables in OUR cars that WE WORKED SO HARD FOR?!?!?!?! I really don’t care who I catch in my yard after 7:00 pm it could be the police commissioner he better have a good explanation as to why he’s in my yard after I break both of his legs or his arms are next!!!!! -_-

I had someone walk up to me just a few days ago, at speed, in my backyard at 2.30 a.m. saying “hey yo, hey buddy”. Just did a little 360 spin backwards and closed and locked my door. I was fine but the NERVE this guy had genuinely shocked me. If I had waited just a couple of seconds I might not have got the door locked in time. This follows on from a week and a half ago when someone knocked loudly on my door at 2 a.m., which follows on from 5 months ago when someone did the same thing. My best guess is they knock to mask the sound of them trying the door handle and if the place is locked they move on immediately, but it’s terrifying. Here I am downstairs in my apartment, two doors and six windows between me and someone who wants to steal from me. Is he behind me right now, looking at me through a tiny crack in the blinds? And I live very close to where the cars were broken into on Sunday. Guess I’m lucky my windows weren’t smashed too and I should remove all the crumpled up receipts and the umbrella in my back seat so these idiots don’t think there’s something in there to steal. What a sad situation to have in a suburb.

8.52am If you can afford to have 5 cars (how many do you really need?), how can you be stupid enough to deliberately want to leave valuables in them overnight.Presumably the waste of sperm will drop round to your yard before 7.00pm.

@ Bred and Batter It’s not about how many do I really need its all about enjoying the fruits of my labor in any way I want whether it be whole or like a smoothie just enjoy it regardless… They can go there at anytime… I’ve got a very unusual kind of yard protection that’s probably prohibited through out half the world but no worries when I do get home I’ll find whoever went there that ain’t supposed to be there laid out there or I’ll hear or read about um… So either way I’m set whether I’m home or not… If I wanna have 14 cars one for every day of the week for 2 weeks and can afford it then I’ll do it… I don’t care because I work too hard not to do what I want with my $… If I wanna leave MY valuables in MY car that’s parked in MY yard I should be able to do so regardless because EVERYTHING is MINE!!!! I work hard just like everybody else that actually has a brain so if some brainless waste of sperm comes and messes with MY things that I worked so hard for they will feel MY wrath then!!!! Simple logics bruv just get up and go get your own by working for it not by troubling peoples things that they worked for… Its not that people cant find work they just too damn lazy… They DONT want work period because if they did they’d never give up… They wanna start off making $12 an hour when they have a police record from here to mars because of their foolish actions which they continue to repeat but then again I just remembered they’re a set of brainless wastes of sperm!!!!! I started from the bottom after being kicked out of school in my last year… Yes its been a long road, yes its been bumpy and yes its been so frustrating at some points I thought of just snapping and doing some illegal shit but like I said before I’m one of those who’s actually got a brain so I never gave up and just kept pushing forward… I started off making $240 a week long before minimum wage laws were passed not much but it was an honest job for me to provide whatever I could for myself… I got angry many times and was like this ain’t cutting it and I’m gonna quit but I never did because I wanted a lot more than just that outta life so I kept climbing and even though I’m waaaaay better off than when I first started I’m still striving for more…. Anybody can do it just like I did so these waste man need to do something constructive and leave other peoples things alone!!!!

        AND IM FULL BREED CAYMANIAN!!!!!

4:47 pm, are they up to solving crime? Or are they a part of the problem? Too many nationalities in the RCIP. Do some cleaning and select persons not uniforms.

Having your car broken in must be traumatic but when you deliberately leave items in the car like hand DVD with bank cards you are really being careless. The police have enough to take care of besides having to run around to find the culprits and your bags when you are so thoughtless. Enough already!!

People are just pigs and have no values. If something isn’t yours, don’t take it. SIMPLE! Instead, we have “wutless” people who prefer to take from those who’ve more than likely had to work (damn hard) for what they own.

Too bad they never remain the cars they break in to. One of these days they will keep the cars company.

Because they are lazy and stupid.

They could easily do this with some of the most commonly stolen items such as bicycles, scooters, and small outboard motors fitted with GPS trackers that cost less than a few hundred dollars which will send an alert when the item is moved from its location. They wouldn’t even need to have constant manned surveillance on the item, just wait for the alert and then track it to its location. Maybe they could not get a conviction for the actual theft but they should be able to make arrests for handling stolen property and probably find other stolen goods as well.

Ever since our lovely new constitution they are too worried about entrapment charges. That’s why they don’t proactively try to catch persons on island working without a WP like they used to.

If you give someone an opportunity to do what they would have done anyway and they do it that is not entrapment.
