Victim critical after argument turns violent

Cayman News Service(CNS): One man is in hospital in critical condition with a serious head injury and a second man is in custody after an argument between the two men turned violent in the early hours of Sunday morning, police have said. A 24-year-old man from George Town has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the serious assault. The incident took place on Kennedy Drive, George Town, around 4:00am. Police said that a verbal disagreement between the men, who know each other, escalated into a physical confrontation, during which the victim was struck in the head.

It is not clear if a weapon was involved but police said that the victim had sustained a life-threatening injury. The man accused of inflicting the injury remains in custody as the investigation continues.
