NS man denies stealing CI$7k in GT robbery

(CNS): In Grand Court 0n Friday Wayne Alphonso Bellafonte Jr (26) from North Side pleaded not guilty to charges of robbery and the possession of an imitation gun in connection with a home invasion in Palm Dale, George Town, last summer. He is expected to face trial in May. Bellafonte is accused of entering a residence in the area at around 1:30am on 28 July with a second as yet unidentified man; one of them was carrying a handgun and they demanded cash from the residents. According to the indictment against him, Bellafonte and his partner in crime allegedly fled the residence with a purse and $7,000 in cash. 

Bellafonte was arrested in North Side three days later during a police operation involving the RCIPS K-9 Unit. One of the dogs tracked him down after he had fled from police and hid in an abandoned structure.
