Cayman News Service(CNS): Thieves broke into four cars overnight in the Fairbanks area of George Town, police said Tuesday morning after officers were called out to reports of belongings being stolen and cars ransacked. All four break-ins happened in Outpost Street and Fairbanks Road. The police began receiving reports at 6:00 this morning. In the first case the rear windows of the vehicle were broken and a bag containing personal items was stolen; a second car in the same complex in Outpost Street had also been ransacked. A rear window of the third vehicle, which was also parked in Outpost Street at a different address, was broken and a bag with personal items was also taken.

The fourth report was at an address off Fairbanks Road, where the break-in was discovered around 7am, but nothing was reported stolen.

Police said that the incidents are now under investigation and are reminding the public to ensure that valuables are not left inside vehicles, especially overnight.

So upsetting, breaking into cars for some coins and a few sticks of gum. Whoever you are I hope you get caught, if we were in the USA I would say hope you get shot.

When will we be allowed to protect our property and family from theft and home invasion in a way that will deter these criminals.?

RCIP you do a great job but it’s all after the fact.

Who is going to stop these escalating criminals from brandishing a gun and terrorizing a household.

Bound, gagged and scarred for life?

They will have to shoot me first, unless of course I can protect my family with a firearm.

Giving us irrelevant statistics and exaggerated arrests that lead to bail or early prison release makes none of us feel safer.

When it happens to you maybe you’ll understand going from fear to anger and back to hopelessness.

Law abiding citizens should have easier access to firearms to protect family and property from this plague of criminals of which none of us are exempt.
