Robber escapes with cash from liquor store stick-up

Tortuga store in Seven Mile Shops

(CNS): A lone gunman made off with cash from a liquor store in the Seven Mile Beach shopping plaza around 9:40pm on Saturday night after threatening staff and customers. The man, who was wearing a long-sleeved white shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap, was carrying what looked like a handgun, according to witnesses at the store. Police did not specify the location but CNS understands the armed stick-up was at the Tortuga store. No other details have yet been revealed about the robbery.

Detectives from the George Town Criminal Investigation Department are asking anyone with information about the robbery to contact ADS Kenval Bryan at 9381378 or call the George Town Police Station at 9494222.
