Cayman News Service(CNS): Three muggers attacked a man riding a bicycle late Thursday night as he was riding home from work. Police said that one man was apparently hiding behind a container at a construction site on South Church Street in the vicinity of Thompson Way, when he hit the victim on the back of his head, causing him to fall off his bike to the ground. Another robber, who carried a knife, took a number of personal items from the victim and threatened to stab him. One of the muggers was tall, wearing a black hoodie and black pants, and another was short, wearing a white marina with black shorts. Both had their faces covered.

There was no description provided for the third man.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he received treatment and was later released.

Anyone with information is asked to contact George Town CID at 949-4222, or to submit a tip anonymously to police via the RCIPS website  or through Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 or online here.

Before long Cayman, you will be requesting help from the U.K. to send out the troops to help maintain law and order on the streets. I wouldn’t even think of trying to get independence or it will be civil war here. You have no army to protect all the law abiding citizens and the gangs will just take over. Look what’s happened to Jamaica.

There’s nowhere to hide and 400+ police force, a helicopter and K-9. These red pants “gangsters” got so bold because no one is seriously trying to catch them. Bring a real detective on this island. Just one would suffice.

I think you better make the most of the spike in tourism because the way things are going you aren’t going to have many tourists visiting the Cayman Islands soon. The amount of serious crime committed on this island on a daily basis is unbelievable! They’ll be renaming it Kingston Town not Georgetown for sure. I can’t figure out how a beautiful island like this has gone to seed. Caymanians are not safe, tourists aren’t safe, and children aren’t safe walking the streets either for fear of being abducted. If you aren’t stabbed you are shot or beaten to a pulp! It’s safer to walk the streets of New York. You have Police Officers on every corner of the street and Security guards around every store in Manhattan. Government needs to get their act together and realise how this ever increasing crime will be detrimental to the economy of this island. You can forget building fancy hotels because there’ll be no tourists to fill them. Jobs will go and then you’ll have more crime to contend with. It will be a domino effect across the island. Government needs to fund RCIPS as a matter of urgency to enable extra officers on the beat. You can only work with the tools you’ve got and there’s not enough tools in the box to keep up with the escalating crime on this island. It’s not safe to stay home in fear of armed intruders and not safe to go out for fear of being robbed and shot. What kind of place is going to attract tourists with this crime going on. It’ll be like Jamaica where they advise you to stay in the hotel grounds. You can’t even go to the beach here anymore without your belongings stolen. These crimes reported on CNS, and rightly so, can be read worldwide. Tourists are going to give this place a wide berth sooner than what you think. Everyone will be going to the US or Europe on vacation. GET IT SORTED Government!!!……. it’s no good locking the stable door after the horse has bolted!

Why do you constantly spoil a very positive feed back by picking out the same country, Honduras, England, America, Trinidad and so forth all have rising crime.

I can’t see any positive feedback Dunz on any post regarding crime on this island. Everyone is fed up to the gills of this escalating crime. RCIPS are doing their very best with the officers they have. Yes, you are right to some extent that there is rising crime in every country but the scale of it here on an area the size of a postage stamp is phenomenal!!

Because he is a mute Muppet; a real Premier would address his Nation on anything; the fact he doesn’t tells you he doesn’t give a flying F about his people. He needs to borrow some testicular fortitude form Chris and man the F up.

So that they can be attacked whilst conducting their duty and the perpetrator is let off in court and a lot of people are overjoyed that it was an expat who was assaulted or verbally insulted, o yeah it must have been an expat that did the assault as our kids are perfect.
