(CNS): A woman who woke up to find a burglar in her house in the middle of night was reportedly sprayed with an unknown substance by the home invader before he fled with her purse, police have said. The substance turned out to be benign, possibly hairspray, as the victim was not hurt during the incident at her home at Rum Point Drive in North Side. When she awoke, disturbing the burglar, he sprayed her face, grabbed her bag and made his escape through the rear door. He was described as having a brown complexion, short hair and was wearing dark shorts.

After hurricane Ivan I worked in a press related position in government. We were reporting the percentage of arrests made within a certain period after the hurricane.
The facts were the majority of arrests were caymanian males ?
But the department head where I worked only wanted to print how many Jamaicans had been arrested during that period !!!!!!!!? TRUE

When will I, as a woman, be able to use spray to protect myself?

well, start with hanging some simple bells on your door knobs and window handles. You need to time to react and grub that pepper spray. When startled, people freeze. So start practicing.

Hairspray in your eyes is not a ‘benign’ experience and could do premanent damage. Are RCIPS trying to play down the fact this was a potentially serious assault even if no injuries were actually inflicted?

Foolish comment. If you look around, you can see Caymanians of all shades, yet you jump to the conclusion that the burglar is from Jamaica. SMH! Your agenda is showing and it isn’t pretty.

I think you are mistaken. Most crimes appear to be committed by people of Caymanian nationality according to actual statistics rather than hearsay and prejudice.

2.27pm so if it’s other nationalities, but mostly Jamaicans committing our crimes I am confused as to why the majority of the inhabitants of Northward are home grown, true blooded, pure bred Caymanians.

How you get there from here? Northward is full of Caymanian prisoners, so if you have some knowledge, then share it.
