Teenager charged over weekend stabbing

(CNS): An 18-year-old man from George Town has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an early morning stabbing in the car park of a George Town bar on Saturday, 16 June. Police were called to a report of a fight outside Margaritaville on Harbour Drive at around 1am. When they got to the scene, officers found a 21-year-old man with multiple stab wounds in a nearby parking lot. The police administered first aid before the emergency services arrived and took the man to the George Town hospital, where he remains in serious but stable condition.

The teenage suspect remains in police custody and was expected to appear in court this morning.

The police are still appealing for witnesses to this offence and the events that led up to it.
