    Q. What were in the “two bags of dive gear” that RCIPS breezed over and felt necessary only to detail the minimally valuable used Mares fins and masks?!? WTF RCIPS, get a clue! Tell us about the BCDs, reg sets, and computers – the things that are actually worth thousands of dollars and gave commercial motive to theses thieves! So tired of these nonsensical keystone-cop police reports that fail to record the meat of the crime!

Hopefully they are caught when trying to sell it, unless its a poacher that needs the equipment and if so it won’t be seen again unfortunately.

I really hope they catch the person that did this but on the other hand.. why was expensive dive gear left on the front porch? I know we should live in a society where you can leave dive gear out and no one will bother it, we were all taught this as kids to leave things along that isn’t ours but again.. why was it left out to begin with.

Classic victim blaming – does it serve them right for failing to assume everyone is dishonest and troublesome? Let’s try to catch the bad people instead.

8:38 am , because Tourist aren’t informed about any and all the dangers of vacationing in Cayman today , The DoT and Gov isn’t and some News Media are trying to make you and the Tourist think that there’s no crime on the Island .

Thank you CNS for exposing these crimes and allowing the public to criticize and demoralize these criminals .

I think that DoT and Gov would be doing something good for Tourism if visitors are informed about the dangers of crime , and danger of areas where not to swim and currents .

On the front porch? I thought that was a free giveaway. Sorry, I’ll return that gear right away… not.
Why don’t you leave your wallet and laptop on the front seat of your unlocked car too!
We all read the reports of escalated burglary so I’d call this neglecting to take proper care.

It said ‘porch’. Could have been the back porch. Out of site of the road, etc. So it could be like someone breaking the window and stealing your wallet off the table.

I recommend people invest in an inexpensive camera system that can be installed by electrician and uses an app to track activity.
Nowadays people are too idle and what back in the day was normal to leave stuff on our porches and wake up to still find is no longer being ignored by idle no good lazy jerks! Thieves!
    Pathetic!
I hope the gear is tracked and recovered

I remember as a kid going to bed with the doors unlocked and open.

I remember it too 8:39 am. And it was a looooooong time ago.

We used to take advantage of the “cool” nights by leaving our windows and doors open. It was truly remarkable as no-one ever came by and bothered you, stole from you, none of the sort.

Today, we are just another third world corner.

I still open my windows and I hope they attempt to steal something with infra-red cameras and HD cameras and image recongition software. They electrified wire around the perimeter of the yard adds a nice touch.

          Welcome all scum bags.
