Dart Park

(CNS): The police are urging parents and caregivers to be mindful of the whereabouts of children at all times when in public, following reports that a man was behaving indecently at the Dart Park last week where children were playing. The man was described as tall, slim built, of dark complexion and with very short hair, wearing blue shorts and a white v-neck t-shirt. According to a report made to the RCIPS, the man was seen inappropriately touching himself as he watched children in the park. When he realised that the adults had seen him, he quickly left the location.

The incident happened on Thursday, 8 February, around 5:45pm at Dart Park on South Church Street but was not reported until Sunday, 11 February.  The police are asking members of the public with any information about this man to come forward, and urge anyone who sees this kind of behaviour to contact 911 right away.

Anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the man is asked to call 9-1-1 or the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.  Anonymous tips can be provided to the RCIPS Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777, the Miami-based call Centre of Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS), or online here.

A lot of child abuse of a sexual nature starts at home by people known to the victim. This is why it is imperative that this Government funds experienced leadership for the MASH team from the UK. Why aren’t they doing this???
I’m sure each person on this island would happily contribute $1 a week towards this persons salary in order to take this team forward in combatting this heinous crime.

What the hell is going on in the World today folks? The police urge people to contact 911 right away if they see this kind of behaviour. Am I able to beat the living sh!t into this guy first, then call 911? That’s what will happen if I see somebody behaving like this around my kids and I’d expect a medal. This person needs catching asap or it’s gonna be something far worse next.

There is a movie, Little Children, 2006, fast forward to the last scenes, and watch it. I mean, really watch it. Write your comment after that.
Having said that I don’t condone such behavior. Just don’t be a judge and executor yet.
Your “left-handed” politician hopeful has not been sentenced yet, why such a long wait?

I am a female, and just like everybody else was quick to judge everyone even remotely associated with pedophilia. In fact, I would have executed a person on a spot if he approached my children with sick intentions. I didn’t care if he had mental issues. I didn’t care if he died. That movie made me think. I am not a sentimental person, but that character in that movie made me think that it is not all black and white.

Paedophilia. British territory, please keep the standards up. We can appreciate the Greek roots better that way, especially if you know your third declension genitives.

For such a small population, we seem to have a disproportionately high concentration of perverts and criminals. With few exceptions, these are not imported problems. These are homegrown, and many of them the product of generations of felon procreation. We need a lot more family planning discussion in early high school, more widespread birth control availability and use, and the option of chemical castration for convicted sex offenders.

He is as Caymanian as Ato Stephens and our problems is an immigration one where criminals and their kin need to be sent home and then maybe we might just be able to sort out our own. Nice try though if it so bad here why don’t you go homeland and talk about there if you dont get gunned down.

YET we still don’t have a public sex offender registry?

Someone please explain why this information isn’t made public…..
Child abuse in Cayman is estimated to affect 1 in 5 children. That is twice as high as the American average estimated at 1 in 10. One way to lower the rate is to publically name those who are known perpetrators. I firmly believe the public are happy regarding the treatment of pedophiles when they enter jail.

Having attended training on how to spot, stop and report child abuse recently in Cayman it is truly shocking that we don’t have this information made publically. 1 in 5 children in Cayman are experiencing sexual abuse before the age of 18 and the estimate is made as a result of reports made to police. Thus, PEOPLE ARE REPORTING to some extent and at the moment reporting a situation only benefits the reporter, and not the vulnerable and abused, as no actions are being taken to halt the offenders actions.

We need this change of policy for the safety of our children and their children to come.

@2:01 if you are interested in the topic and prevention of child abuse look into attending a stewards for children darkness to light session at the Red Cross

They explain that the caymanian statistics come from reports made against perpatrators

Maybe watching too much porn and decided to act out what he has been watching. Maybe lonely with too many hormones running wild and have too many perverted fantasies and desires. Lots people don’t realize that your thoughts/desires affect your behaviour and how you conduct yourself. Once you loose sight of what is right and wrong, what is acceptable behaviour this sort of thing starts happening. Remember the molested donkeys, some people start with animals and work their way up. Sick and scary to know he or maybe more is out there. Clearly he needs help.
