Saying other islands are worse doesn’t make Cayman a better place to live or vacation. This island is on the slippery slope to destruction as a tranquil beautiful place. It’s gone Cayman!!! Save all your pennies because you are going to need them shortly.

It is disappointing to see that every incident of crime is met with a torrent of posts attaching blame to only one ethnic group, Jamaicans. Why do our Caymanian people have this obsession with blaming others, particularly Jamaicans for all that is wrong? The vast majority of crimes committed are actually by Caymanians themselves, as evidenced by the population in Northward. Yes, there has been a Jamaican element involved in several crimes in recent years, but this is no logical basis on which to make sweeping judgements against Jamaicans alone, when there are other ethnic
groups involved. I do not expect much positive feedback to my post as most CNS negative posts are obviously contributable to ignorance and racism.

My choice of police officers would be dedicated public servants who have a vested interest in Cayman and not those who are self serving, and ship their money off to other Countries. Otherwise there will be those who do as little as possible just to collect a paycheck.

Maybe, just maybe Caymanians don’t want to join the RCIPS and they are forced to look elsewhere for officers. So that tells me Caymanians don’t have a vested interest in their country.

Even if someone is arrested, they will be given bail and be back out by the end of the day.

The whole problem with crime is that criminals are not punished enough, they need to go to prison with hard labour and once a week give them the cat of nine. and only feed them on bread and beans, then when they come out of prison they will not want to go back and will do they very best to stay straight. But Cayman will cry this down, so Caymanians must like crime for they don’t want to really do anything about it, The politicians only care about the Vote and their pockets and the people keep voting them back in.

Don’t tell me this island isn’t getting more like Jamaica by the hour!! The tranquil safe Islands that we were, are well and truly over!! Before anyone posts a comment stating “you couldn’t have been to Jamaica!” ……..yes, I have a few times. I had no pleasure in having to be told to stay in the hotel grounds or only go on organised tours. I feel if I am paying a lot of money for a holiday I do feel I am able to walk around and enjoy the Islands safely. Such a shame!

This statement makes no sense. There isn’t a bunch of people from Miami or New York living on Eastern Avenue. It’s not about hate, the comment was made about the nationality of the majority who live there..
