Man caught on camera trying the door of an SUV

(CNS): A suspect who appears to be looking to steal a vehicle was caught twice on CCTV over the last few days trying the same SUV door outside a residence in a neighbourhood off Poindexter Road. The owners told CNS that they are concerned that the man, who arrives and departs by bicycle and seems oblivious of the cameras, may be trying other vehicles. They are urging people to be on alert and asking anyone who thinks they know who it is to contact the RCIPS.

Anyone who has information can call George Town Police Station at 949-4222.  Anonymous tips can be provided to the RCIPS Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777, the Miami-based call centre of Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS), or online here.

He’s the son of a prominent Caymanian. For legal reasons I won’t be protected if I post his name. It’s a shame though that his son has to live this lifestyle.

So for all those jumping on the bandwagon about it being a Honduran, it’s not since i can identify the individual in the video. The owner says it’s the same guy who attempted multiple times over a period of time so it’s not different people.

    What camera is that?

Fresh off the Honduran fishing boat and into a cash daily landscaping job & a picker by night! This shit is so obvious after having witnessed it from living on Marina Drive for YEARS! Anything they can pick up and sell or take back is treasure!

Ignorant, but not racist. Honduran isn’t a race.

No, as matter of Cayman law discrimination against someone in the basis of national origin is race discrimination.

No, you are 100% wrong. You’ll find no law in Cayman that states Race and National origin are the same thing. Generally, it is against the law, in most countries to discriminate against someone based on gender, race, creed. Notice the distinctions? However, in Cayman discrimination based on National origin is actually part of the law, see permanent residency points system.
Black Hondurans get the same amount of points as white Hondurans and both receive fewer points than black or white or Asian citizens of less represented countries.
Now if white Hondurans were given more points than black Hondurans that would be racist. See?

            From the law:
Points are awarded based on an applicant’s country of origin. Countries with fewer residents represented will receive more points than countries with higher degrees of representation.

I can’t help it if you don’t know the difference between race and national origin.

The owner of the vehicle only needs to find a good sitting position. He’ll venture again…as these vagabonds have nothing to lose!

Great camera. Perhaps government should get some. As for the perp, if riding bicycles at night without lights were unlawful and the police were asked to enforce the law, we might catch him.
