New tropical storm brewing south east of Nicaragua

(CNS): Local weather forecasters are urging residents in Cayman to keep an eye on Tropical Depression 16, which is expected to become Tropical Storm Nate before the day is out. Some international weather experts are predicting that the depression, which formed around lunchtime Wednesday, could become another dangerous hurricane as it moves north toward the Yucatan Peninsula, with warm Caribbean waters likely to fuel the storm. Still too early for its path to be accurately predicted, TD16 or TS Nate could pass close to Cayman over the next few days.

Cayman’s weather service issued a lunchtime weather advisory stating that the depression posed no immediate threat to the islands but local meteorologists would be monitoring the development of the weather system and urged residents to keep their eyes and ears on local media for updates.

Meanwhile, regardless of the potential development of TS Nate, the inclement weather in Cayman which has been drenching the islands for more than a week was set to continue well into the weekend and a small craft warning was issued for Friday.

Weather Channel has been telling us to watch this for over a week and Cayman weather service tells us the afternoon before it is due to approach us…there is nothing like a good preventative warning and that was nothing like a good preventative warning…

The model has it passing Friday. “The night before” is an exageration. It was not even a system until today….whuch warranted a watch. I hope you know as much about the job of cayman weather service as you do about your own job.

please note you are talking about a multi billion dollar company who have more meteorologist with PHDs to throw away. Also note that you are talking about a tropical depression near land in the next 24 hours it could be become a storm or dissipate. plus it is not forecast to come near cayman. the local weather service issued the statement as soon as it formed. and please count the number of times that the weather channell says to watch and nothing happens. thats why you wait until it forms.

when you dont know what you are talking about its best to keep quiet or ask in a more professional manner.

Simple, watch the weather channel and copy paste…at least locals would understand they need to start thinking about what to do if it came our way..why do you guys always defend a below mediocre service. The best thing on the website is the radar and satellite picture..the rest is poppycock
