Driver flees scene after causing crash

| 28/09/2017 | 21 Comments

(CNS): Police are on the lookout for the driver of a silver Honda that collided with a red Ford Explorer near the Butterfield Roundabout last night. The Honda did not stop and left the scene before police arrived. Traffic police and the emergency services were called to the location just before 11:00pm Wednesday, 27 September, where they found a woman in the Ford, which had collided with the AL Thompson fence. Police said the collision happened when the silver car crashed into the front of the Ford Explorer, causing the driver to lose control and crash into the fence.

The collision is under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to call George Town Police Station at 949-4222. Anonymous tips can be provided to the RCIPS Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777, the Miami-based call centre of Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS), or online here.

Don’t people usually get off with a slap on the wrist when they run from the scene of an accident. I am not suggesting that alcohol was involved but usually the suspect vehicle is hidden and repaired and the person get off.
    Right?

They sponsor the maintenance of it. That’s why their logo is on the round-about. Just like Island Heritage (pretty), Chrissy Tomlinson (ugly), CNB (prettiest), Tortuga (most pathetic) and dms (ugliest). They all have round-abouts with their branding.

Our government doesn’t care or know how to beautify so they have private sector spend the money to give the Island some semblance of beautification.

Hence why we have no trees going down the middle of our new highways. City planning means something else here.

May as well come forward. I heard they have most of the plate number.

We seem to be betting hardest on RFID tags and readers doing the hard work in future. Perhaps RFID reader arrays should be installed now at all known accident epicenters? In theory, they would be able to generate a report of matching participants, their velocities, direction of travel, and a list of witnesses, all within minutes. Some of the neighbouring jaywalkers and crackhead cyclists should also be surgically fitted with their own RFID chips, just above their hairline, so that an “suicidal pedestrian warning” can flash to the reader array to aide accident reconstructionists.
