Do Cayman have a extradition treaty with Jamaica ? I know we have a importation treaty.

The Kearney Gomez radar station at High Rock is a weather radar station. It does not detect vessels or aircraft, therefore it has no purpose in border control or crime fighting.

Some people in CIG don’t want radars as they are the very people getting kick backs from the drug lords when they use Cayman to traffic up to North America of Europe. This and money laundering been they way for Cayman for decades and it has not changed.

Remembering a comment made by a political hopeful, I say let’s go with that idea, request the UK government provide min 3-5 border coverage grade drones, post enough in the skies around Cayman 24/7 as one runs out of power more goes up, anything that moves near our borders would be covered.
Let’s put the coverage of our borders into the UK’s partial responsibility, We need to start benefiting from all of the agreements we have signed away in the form of tax deals, all of those countries are recouping taxes because of our info, I say we get something back in return other than a thank you.

Why aren’t their radar stations on Grand Cayman? The solution to this problem is simple. Install radar and monitor it 24-7. Any vessel approaching our shores which doesn’t respond to radio calls should be intercepted by the police boats and helicopter.

It’s so simple to fix the problem of illegal arrivals and drug shipments it makes you wonder; are the police/lawmakers benefiting from it?

You think it’s so easy? You are so wrong. I guess you know nothing about a radar. Most of the time a radar cannot see these low lying canoes on the water unless they are very close to the radar itself. Close like within a mile or less. Soo they would just avoid coming close to the radar site to do the drop and never be seen by radar so a waste of money.

We have a radar station, aptly named after Kearney Gomez, former chief officer. It provides minimum results at maximum costs.

Actually there are wide area surveillance systems that would perfect for this island. 6 of the portable ones would cost the CI government around $1m but could be quickly and easily positioned in hot zones.

Scary how easy it is for them to come and go undetected. Who took him back?

We are literally sitting ducks on this island. What is to stop the cartel from coming here and pulling off a major heist at a jewelry store and disappearing without a trace? Oh right… they already did that!
