(CNS): Police responded to 230 incidents between 6:00am Friday 28 April and 6:00am Monday 1 May. Officers executed nine arrest warrants and a total of 14 people were taken into custody, including an arrest for indecent assault on Grand Cayman. On Cayman Brac a man was arrested Friday night at 11:30pm for an incident that happened about 10:58pm at a location on Dilbert Avenue in which two males were reportedly stabbed and struck by a hammer.

The RCIPS said the suspect, who remains in custody, was arrested and the weapons allegedly used were recovered by the police.

The victims were taken to the Faith Hospital. One of the men was treated and released while the other was flown to Grand Cayman for further treatment.

On Grand Cayman on Friday 28 April police officers arrested and charged a 30-year-old man with two counts of indecent assault, which had been previously reported to the police. He was expected in court Monday but no other details were released.

In addition, a motorcyclist was arrested and nine other people prosecuted for traffic offences during an event on Sunday in the George Town Industrial Park area which attracted many motorcycle enthusiasts.

“Motorcycle enthusiasts” – good one. Other events this weekend attracted cutlery collectors and fans of spouse boxing.

No magic science drugs and guns are awashed on our streets and little our nothing is being done by those who simply are not intested in preventing and stopping crime for their own financial gain. WHat time is it ??? PPM time. A government for the UK and its agenda and against its own people and their rights. The Uk’s rinky dink leadership & policies are deliberately ruining or island and its people

True! Must be those above them liking this farce, because everyone knows it. We need to start suing them and deporting them, one by one, till they’re all gone. All!

      • Veritas says:

Jinga Boos if we employed a 100% Caymanian police force and even if only a few of them had your mentality, this country w0uld descend into chaos.

You are so right . Some would blame the parents or the community when a seven year old is caught smoking ganga…but the blame should be placed firmly with the government of a country thousands of miles away.

1.18pm with respect, Don’t be so ridiculous! How can the UK Government be responsible for a 7yr old smoking Ganja! It’s down to poor parental control and guidance. My 7yr old was playing with dolls in the back yard not roaming the roads unsupervised. What kind of upbringing is this child having? More worrying, what will he be up to when he reaches his teenage years. Child protection’s intervention is required immediately I think. If this happened in the U.K. CPS would have gone in straight away and removed that child to a place of safety.

And the Fire Dept responded to all of 9 incidents (based on their average) and needed $1.7 million in annual overtime.

Probably about the same, because such a rapid influx could only come from non-criminal, police-cleared, permit holders. Sad but true.
