Car stolen 6 May 2017

(CNS): A woman whose car was stolen from the green area between the Esterley Tibbetts Highway and Peninsula Avenue near the Kimpton roundabout during or after the Batabano festival on Saturday is asking anyone who may have seen it to get in touch. She reported the 2012 Honda Fit (licence #161 702) missing to the police Sunday after finding it gone, but she told CNS Monday that she was desperate to enlist the help of the public as soon as possible to get her car back.

The owner parked the car at about 1:20pm. It’s a 10th year anniversary edition with insignia on the back. Only one hub cap has the ‘H’ Honda logo on it and one of the tyres. She said there is a small noticeable dent and white scuff marks on the middle of driver side door and she is urging anyone who finds it or may know where it is to give her a call on 323-9160.

Beautiful scumbags and they’re scummy families. Stealing a car from a woman probably needing her car to get to work and pay her bills.

She will be very lucky if its not at the bottom of a man made lake or in one of the dykes somewhere on the island.

The good thing we can be assured of is that it did not leave the island on a stolen boat or one of them weekly Jamaican canoe visits, where 90% of our stolen property goes outbound and is then exchanged for guns and drugs inbound.

Too many worthless politicians supporting able bodied Caymanians and their families for political
votes; who in turn are stealing from hard working and law abiding citizens.

God help them bastards if they come to my yard to steal when I’m at home. And as for reporting my actions to the police and incurring lawyer fees to defend myself in court, sorry but we are surrounded by too much deep blue waters around our islands.

Aren’t there CCTV cameras in that area?? There were many cars parked in that area on Saturday, as I made a trip into town to do a drop-off at the airport, and back out around the time the owner said they parked that car. I didn’t notice that exact vehicle, but there were plenty of them parked in that area. Surely our extensive (and EXPENSIVE!) CCTV system picked up that theft? Or is that system only a fake deterrent that cannot actually be used to solve that or any other crime??

We have thousands of crimes each year, but we hear of almost xero evidence provided by CCTV cameras. How many of them are actually functional on any given day, and what is this system costing us?.
