McKeeva Bush and the Independents
(CNS): An hour before midnight Friday night and some six hours after he signed a deal with the leader of the Progressives to form a government, citing the “interests of the nation”, McKeeva Bush appeared to have backed out of that agreement, where he would have been made speaker, and secured himself the premiership instead. CNS has been unable to confirm the details with official sources but pictures of Bush with all of the independents, except Tara Rivers, posted on social media and believed to have been taken at the Grand Pavillion, show Bush back in control of government.
In another surprise twist in Cayman’s first ever OMOV poll in single-member constituencies, the least likely scenario has taken shape where the independents have been coerced into offering Bush the top job in order to seize back their chance at control. The deal was said to have been brokered by Dr Steve Tomlinson.
CNS was unable to get confirmation from Alden McLaughlin about what appears to be a bait and switch move by Bush and whether or not the PPM already had a possible counter-plan.

The people did not vote for Dr Tomlinson and McKeeva Bush. The majority of people voted for
PPM and Independents who were not supported by Tomlinson. That’s a fact! The people shouldn’t be accepting this this Government and make their voices heard by the Governor.

There is no honour here! And no women contenders. We have have regressed as a nation into a banana republic! Who can put their faith in a candidate who is a party member for the election and then jump party ship when he looses the election? Who can put their faith in candidates who run on an independent tickets and then form an alliance with a political leader who was ousted? I voted and my candidate did not win and I accept that. But I do not accept how this government is choosing to form itself.
Looking at all the different times that comments were posted , do people ever sleep anymore in Cayman islands ? I know that we have to watch these Politicians , but this looks like we are watching them 24/7/365 , which is good , but we needs to get our night rest so we can have a straight head the next day to hold them ACCOUNTABLE .

All I have to say is, one leader is as good as the other leader they both do what they believe is right. Let’s put all the hate behind us and move the country forward into the 21 st Centry. We need stability not ability, or ego. Thanks to the independents that were led by a good man. It seem like they were all different type of independents. It seem like Arden and ezzard thinks the people owe them their life. Had Arden got premier and Ezzard deputy, God only knows what would be next. They both have no respect for the people. East end and north side is still better off with them off the bench. I am sure England would have to eventually step in and close us down. Within the last 30 years the Cayman Islands people had voted for a change and it never happened because of corruption within the government. As a decendant Aboriginal native from Gun Bay I am very pleased to see the new independent Government that has been formed. I am hoping that this new Government does not repeat the same trend from the previous Governments. The people voted for a great change and the people stand behind their vote. We do expect better from this Government. It does not take a rocket scientist to run a Government it takes common sense.

This will not end well for our beautiful country! For Mac, this is about power, not about what is in the best interests of our country and our people! What do we have to look forward to?……. 30 story buildings lining our shorelines; building of the port – more botched deals that will end with million dollar payouts; FCO will again be involved or at the very least, the watchdog as we slip down into instability and economic downturn again! Sorry ! Not a deal to be rejoicing at. I am at the very least hoping that the persons that will be heading our ministries, are not all the people in the picture……cause that too is a very sad, dire situation. For those of you that will shout now, come back in a few months and state whether you have found a job, been helped by either of these people in some way, been able to get any of them on the phone or had a phone call returned.
