people here just don’t know how to use roundabouts. I was coming out of hurlers only this evening and saw a motorbike in the right lane coming around so I pulled out in the left lane going left only to see him quickly move into the left lane. he then holds up his arm to say WTF lol. he then goes left. its a nightmare. please start showing the ads again on TV.
thinking of going to the running track to run too as its Russian roulette on the roads when you run these days. everyone on a phone call .WOW. police? help?

    • anon says:

um, if he was coming all the way round from the Shamrock Road direction then he was correct and you were wrong to pull out…….

    • Anonymous says:

Sorry but then you’re also someone who doesn’t know how to use a roundabout. Even on a multi-lane roundabout, you must yield to both lanes of traffic coming from the right and drivers may change lanes on a roundabout if they wish.

The only thing I flip on roundabouts is the middle finger to idiots using them incorrectly.

A lot of drivers here just don’t know how to use a round about or just doesn’t care at all! Locals or expats! Give way to your right! Slow down! Or endanger your self without harming others for you to learn! Police even don’t care of the videos being sent to them about bad drivers on the road, not even a response about it.

You may need to correct the story by slight fact checking. The vehicle incident occurred on the Pointdexter round-about at approximately 3:30 pm ( afternoon) on January 24th. I was there to witness the fire department and ambulance in attendance, after the driver was attended to by both them, as well as other motorists who lent assistance.

CNS: The information about this incident came from the police. Perhaps we have the wrong picture and there was another incident. Anyone?

Another incident? I’m sure there were loads. I saw two during the weekend – one car looked as though it had decided to go for a swim, having reached the end of Boilers Road, and was up on end on the ironshore, and then there was a truck gone head first into a ditch and bush outside Bodden Town. And I only went out twice over the weekend! Anyone know the actual stories to these?

Was he doing a mandatory speed test?

  9. Anonymous says:

That whole road is one big speedway. I drive there everyday at 40 MPH, and without exception (literally), more than 50% of the cars are speeding past me, some maybe up to 70 MPH.

What cant a speed trap be situated on that road once a week to pick these guys off? Even the chance of a speed trap randomly appearing would be enough to stop this.

    • Anonymous says:

Oh, God, how I wish. Every minute of every day there is someone going more than 2x the speed limit as soon as they leave the Hurleys roundabout they put the foot to the floor on the gas pedal and don’t stop until they reach the Tomlinson roundabout. The RCIPS could be raking in the cash if they set up a speed trap anywhere in between.

Going too fast by any chance?

    • Anonymous says:

It is fairly easy to flip a car like that if you hit the curb at the wrong angle. I am not an imbecile, so haven’t done that, but it is not as hard as it looks.

So not necessarily going too fast, perhaps just being driven too atrociously.

Could we PLEASE have signs posted up that show people how to use this round shaped road thing, that is a mystery to many people.

There was another article either on cns or compass about this round- a-bout being closed because they were re-surfacing for grip. Do not know what happen but maybe a load shifted in the truck, the drag factor is not as good as the NRA expected or the driver was exceeding 23 mph which is the maximum speed you can use most round-a-bouts. Glad no one was seriously injuried.
