Usain Bolt and fans

(CNS): Usain Bolt’s team mate from the 2008 Olympics 4 x 100 Jamaica relay squad, Nesta Carter, has tested positive for a banned substance after samples from the Beijing Games were re-tested. As a result, the national team has been stripped of their medals, which means that Bolt has also lost the title of ‘triple-triple’ Olympic champion. Bolt is still the only sub-9.79sec 100m sprinter who has not received a doping violation.

Carter, who ran the opening leg of the final nine years ago, when the Jamaican team ran a then world-record of 37.10, had helped Bolt win all the sprint medals at his first Olympic games.

The 31-year-old runner, who has been trying to clear his name since it was suggested he had cheated, did not compete in Rio in 2016, though he did run with Bolt in London in 2012. There is no indication yet from the International Olympic Committee if that medal is also in question.

On Wednesday Carter’s re-test was confirmed as positive for the prohibited stimulant methylhexaneamine. In a release on the International Olympic Committees website, officials said Carter had been immediately disqualified for committing an anti-doping rule violation and had been stripped of his meda. The entire Jamaican relay team was also disqualified, as they asked for the return of the medals, pins and diplomas.

Didn’t expect any better from CNS. Why did you deliberately leave out the part of the report which stated that THE DRUG FOR WHICH HE IS Supposedly GUILTY OF USING WAS NOT A BANDED SUBSTANCES AT THE TIME HE TOOK IT?

You guys are worse than Fox News.

No big deal. Track and Field is not a team sport anyway.

Sad because competing athletes have to rely on coaches and medical staff to guide them through the maze of anti doping regulations and the ever shifting list of banned substances. It is not as easy as one thinks and I believe in many cases athletes take the fall for overly competitive coaches, managers etc who continue to push athletes beyond “normal” limits. Not saying that this is always the case but I am sure this is the case many times……….you either go along or we will drop you from the team kind of thing

A single Jamaican complying with all the rules without exception – common.
2 Jamaicans complying with all the the rules without exception – frequent.
3 Jamaicans complying with all the rules without exception – rare
4 Jamaicans complying with all the rules without exception – impossible.

Such a shame. A wonderful people who too frequently bring about their own downfall.

      This is a disgusting post.

Interestingly, the same theory could be easily applied to any 4 members of American or British government members.
In fact, by way of clear and undeniable evidence, we could also argue the point in respect to western countries as it concerns the most crucial aspects of international law.

Yes, think before applying fingers to keyboard.

Just asking, were any members of the British or American relay teams disqualified for doping?

        • Anonymous says:

The Brits cant even qualify! Maybe they should give doping a try! hahaha

        • Anonymous says:

Umm, I do believe that 100% (or damn well near) of the American national male sprint champions / olympic gold medal contenders have been caught doping over the past 12 years.

There is a chance my math is off-target, but I am sure you or someone else will be happy to clarify.

          As for worthy “British” sprinters – quotations as they are all essentially Jamaican / Caribbean – I dunno, you may wanna go chat to ol’ Dwain Chambers;

“Chambers’ relay gold medal performance was erased, costing team-mates Darren Campbell, Marlon Devonish and Christian Malcolm their medals in the process” – due to doping violations.

          So … yeah.

          – Who

P.S. Btw, watch this space for forthcoming related developments and revelations (if the surrounding iron-clad corruption is ultimately penetrated) regarding Sir Bradley Wiggins and much of the “Team GB” cycling squad for that matter.

Colored person? What does that even mean? I’m white as sand if I go off island for any length of time, then when I return to the sun I go bright red. Am I a colored person or a multi-colored person?

  10. PPM truth finder says:

They always been cheating thats how they always be winning the sponsors need to look into this now before it become a big scandal.

    • Unison says:

“They always been cheating” … lol … it sounds like you are envious, and hate for the Jamaican team is written over your face 🙂

      • Anonymous says:

all athletes at that level cheat. They have to. The human body has maxed out its potential 15 to 20 years ago. There is no new training methods.

They come up with new doping routines that fool the tests. But like anything. New measures, affect doping counter measures.

I say, who cares. Let them shorten their lives, and dope all they want. We could see 6 second quarter mile runs and amazing athletes.

Even if you dope, doesn’t mean you can be with the best. You stlll have to be born with athletic ability

        • Unison says:

You said “all athletes at that level cheat” … wow … you must have proof to back your claims …

Or, your notion is a false one and perhaps biased

          • Anonymous says:

It’s more common than you think. Look at Armstrong and what he did.

          • Anonymous says:

            Google russian doping.
How many top athletes eventually get caught for it. Obviously you are not that old, or not putting any thought it in.

            Google that as well.

The game is to dope using new methods that beat the current detection methods.

            Eventually everyone gets caught
