Swimmer and kayakers safe after rescues

(CNS): Marine officers and emergency medical personnel were kept busy with two rescues on Tuesday afternoon. At about 1:3opm emergency service responded to a report from Governor’s Beach that a man was in distress in the water. When they arrived, the officers and medics were able to help the man and bring him to shore safe and uninjured.

Around an hour later marine officers were called out to Spotts Beach in response to a report that several people were in distress in the sea near to the reef after a kayak overturned. Another kayak brought them ashore, police said, and everyone was accounted for with no injuries.
